Think its a different sort of fan, unlike those that grew up as City fans for whatever reason that that a strong attachment to the club almost as if its part of us.
Then like when I started watching NFL I picked a team for no real reason and followed them NY Jets big mistake :) but have no real attachment or really care about the players or anything around them. Think we have may of those sort of fans now.

I have no issue with it travel a lot and meet people all over the world that are City fans and want to talk City, and would love to one day get to a game, and should br made welcome when : if they do. However they are a different kind of fan than somebody that grew up supporting City because it was in the DNA, can’t explain why as a 7 year old in 1970 I became a City fan.

He is currently earning £300,000 per week while contributing only slightly more than Lewis. He has been by far the worst player in this team since May 2023 (if we don't count Phillips and Lewis). He is a liability in defense and a huge problem for our defenders; he doesn't win any duels, whether in the air or on the ground. He can't catch up to anyone, and every midfielder in the league outruns him.

As for the right-wing position, it's pointless to even discuss it—he is even more useless there.
I don't want to sugarcoat things, just state them as they are. Currently, he earns more than Andersen, Wharton, Zubimendi, and a few other defensive midfielders combined.
I would honestly rather see anyone of them in the lineup for an away game against Tottenham than Bernardo.

Another season at City would mean we are once again ruining the chance to establish a proper midfield, which has been broken since Gündoğan's departure, and Fernandinho's before him. Even Kovačić is a better CM than him—he looks more natural in that position

We will have massive problems again if he stays, and I hope he doesn't. It's hard to say what's worse: the fact that he's Pep's favorite and that he has to play every single minute. If he’s used as a CMF, then someone like Rodri, Gonzalez, O'Reilly, or Anderson** will have to suffer next season. Even worse than that is Pep's masochistic move to push him to the right wing in 2026. Savinho is a better right winger than him.
He is a Benfica-level player.

There are lots of things you can say about Bernardo currently , lack of creativity, goals , assists, however saying his legs have gone is absolute bollocks. Consistently every game he is the one closing down the keeper from deep , harassing the opposition and generally running his bollocks off non stop and no slower pace wise than he ever was. I sometimes think people on here attend games with their eyes closed some of the shite they post.

I don't think that gets in the way of signing Anderson since Kovacic and (maybe) Phillips leaving will create space in the squad for him. If anything, retaining Bernardo for one more season allows us to splash the cash for Anderson this summer so we can go get another midfielder next summer.

I do agree the desire from him may not be there come summer, but he's stuck with the club a lot longer than I ever would've expected.
