I think he is closer than most people think. Doesn't have the peak of some, but the longevity and consistency is becoming peerless

Another captains performance, set the tone for the rest to follow. No idea how he escaped a booking though just on accumulation. Always get the best Bernardo when he sits next to Rodri in midfield and not when Pep asks him to vacate midfield and lead the press instead.

He's a delightful little ' shithouse' to us against our opponents; yet he's so cute and looks like butter wouldn't melt. I'm delighted he got a trophy as Captain. It's ironic that our best ever player KDB didn't get chance to lift a cup last year- a real outlier of a season.

I hope Bernardo stays for another season, if only to ' mentor' a new ' shithouse' successor - Cherki has the makings....

Sadly I think Bernie will go back to his beloved Benfica this summer. He will be missed.

Not true, as Bernardo put in better performances against the likes of Real, Bayern and Liverpool than David and Yaya, especially away from home.

Bernardo has scored more goals at Anfield or in CL quarters and semis than David, Yaya and Aguero combined.

Incredible player. Winning games isn't always about the skill or pretty side, it's about putting in more effort than the opposition and wanting it more. He wanted to win and he got stuck into them, which is what we needed. We've been quite passive in the past two cup finals, we needed to show that fight.

And, with their mental fragility and desire to knock us off our mantle we needed to show them who was still the premier team. Some unnecessary fouls undoubtedly, but rattling the fuckers was a lovely touch.

A two year contract for Bernardo should be at the very top of Viana’s priority list. People say he doesn’t have pace, was never a part of his game (very much like his brother David) and has as much now as when he joined us, energy in abundance. Please please stay Bernie, absolute fucking legend
