What’s with all the fucking adverts now!!

Arrgh. Anyway to get rid? I keep hitting the adverts and it’s annoying.

Nothing is set in stone yet. As mentioned in my original post, there will probably be further tweaks to layouts/ad positions whilst we try to find the right balance between usability and viability.

What's the click through rate? I can't imagine it's very high. You need to advertise the subscriptions a bit more though. This is the first I've heard of it since an early donation many years ago. I've subscribed.

Legend. For one pint a month to keep this stuff going, it's not a bad rap. I've explained before that every time anyone visits the site it costs Ric money and ads doesn't cover it. Guest or member or prolific poster. He's been paying for us to talk shit to each other for many a year. This subscription actually covers not just your own stuff but like hundreds of people who aren't able to throw in either because times are hard. I've been barracking him to do this for donkey's years because I always reckoned people would stick in a fiver to keep the place ticking over. He can't pay for this forever, if he were to drop dead then this amazing and unique forum would go with him and we'd all be worse off for it.
The fiver a month ensures that our little corner of the internet can continue. I know everyone can't do it, nobody is asking them to. I'm just saying that if you're doing alright and you spend a few hours on this place a day then a little bit of funding would help.
This isn't a million pound business, nobody is getting rich here. It's all on cost which are increasing. I work here for free as do the mods because we love this place just as much as you cunts do.

Not sure that message has got through really. There are plenty of cunts in here implying the mod room is some sort of yacht with its own helipad or Epstein island type place that some folk are unfairly cynical. Rumours of MES adding to his gameshow winnings with a mod contract that was worth more than pogbas at the swamp will not have helped either - especially with his non dom tax arrangements.
