200 cops with criminal convictions

Used to work with someone who had joined the police, whenever an off licence got robbed the bobbies would turn up in a transit van and Chuck loads of beer/wine/spirits into it and include it in the figures with what had actually been stolen then share the spoils, she would have nothing to do with it and couldn’t believe the corruption, she started getting the cold shoulder from her colleagues and left the force.

Water Fairies were the same.

You mean like this? Ignoring an assault. This is bog standard by the way - the Police who claim a lack of resources routinely attend bailiffs attending houses and the like "to prevent a breech of the peace" - they could be doing something useful rather than standing around - why can't bailiffs be subject to what we are and if there is bother they can call 999 and wait for the Police to attend?

and why are the Police here? There is no threat from the guy in the house in fact the only issue is the attempt by the licensing guy to get him to incriminate himself which he is careful to avoid doing.

That second one is absolutely pathetic.

Including assault, fraud, burglary and drug possession and that's with only a third of forces providing figures.

Just been on Sky News.

What say Bluemoon?
Strange figure, exactly 200 :)
I have my doubts about this surely your criminal record is checked when you apply to join?
Why would they employ criminals doesn't make any sense.
And if they commited these crimes whilst serving they would have been sacked.

I can't speak for police forces in the UK. Where I live, if you have a criminal record and apply you won't be getting hired.

If you have a warrant and show up for application processing they will arrest you. If you commit a crime and it is discovered you will be arrested.

Beyond that I guess I am a kfa.

Of course you did.

Sky had some ex senior cop on to explain, then later had Peter Fahey the ex GMP chief on doing the same.

Both basically said the figures are correct as they take into account the "context" of offending and a record isn't a bar to getting a job with them or keeping a job if the offence is committed whilst employed.

Madness imho mate.
