I've been thinking about backing Ireland to beat Australia myself.

Based on recent T20 games I feel 9/4 or 3/1 would be about the right price so 13/2 is very good value, and with a couple of very attacking batsmen, they are very capable of adding the Aussies to the list of scalps, especially in the shortest version of the game, though maybe i ma letting my heart rule my head somewhat.
Though 6/1 to progress could well mean that a win against either the Windies or the convicts could see a return.

I would go along with that to be honest, the players are in optimistic mood judging by the interviews I have read, there definitely looks to be the talent in the side to cause them problems. Hopefully we haven't cursed them.

I can't wait for this tournament now, it looks wide open. Really looking forward to seeing Yuvraj back as well.

That Zimbabwe display of fielding was quite frankly hilarious. Honestly think you could grab a few of 'The Cellar' members and we would have done better.

Even with my broken fingers and dodgy shoulder I would like to think I would have done better tbh, oh and did I mention my dodgy knees?

Though as they have recently posted 200+ against NZ, it seems that batting not bowling or fielding is there strength, here is hoping so at least we get a decent finish.

dont think anyone has mendes :)

Which one?

(though either would do)

Is this a case for thinking that this is going to be a spinners competition, or just that Rhodesia were poor?
And will the Sri Lanka fielding improve when playing better players or cost them in the super 8's?

yeah they both did well! think the more allrounders you have the better in the comp

It will depend on where the all-rounder bats imho, one of the reasons why I didnt select Ko'B as I feel that if Ireland are to do well, Skipp and Stirlo need to perform, Doc will take wickets anywhere in the world, and on a spinners wicket Stirlo will be hard to play, so better to have an attacking batsman that is a bit part bowler than an all rounder that might go for runs and not get a bat....but time will tell. Just wish I didnt have to miss so much of it because of work :-(

Wicketkeeper batsman are the key!

Thought I'd give this a little bump seeing as its disappeared down the pages.

Nothing to do with me having Brendon McCullum in my team or anything....
