2014/15 accounts released - £10.7m profit

The map at the bottom of this page suggests that we need to target South America commercially, there's seems to be a lot of interest in us in Brazil and Argentina

Great results and the commercial growth report is really interesting, the good news is that it will only continue to improve too!

Pretty sure it has been stated that we already have a decent fanbase in South America. Considering the make up of the current squad and manager, think we are missing a trick if we don't tour there soon.

TBH, I can't believe that I'm slightly disappointed with our record turnover and leap into profitability as I expected it to be pushing the £400m mark.

Not to worry, I'll just console myself with all the Rags around me who've suddenly gone M.I.A and can't been seen for dust. :-)

I've done a breakdown of the last 5 years' accounts. The layout of ours is a bit difficult to follow so I've summarised it in a more understandable format. Hope it's readable

Media income is pretty well where I thought it would be but matchday is down as we had a couple fewer matches compared to the previous year, which I didn't check. Staff wages are well down (£194m v £205m last year) orobably due to lower bonuses as we didn't win anything. General expenses are up by £10m, which I suspect is due to the setting up of NYCFC. We also recorded a decent profit on player trading, as I said we would.

The Cash Flow Statement is always interesting as it shows how much actual cash we generate or suck in. The Sheikh had to put in another £84.3m in shares but we spent a net £66m on transfers and £62m on the CFA and other capital items. So that's nearly £150m cash spent, with a £53m surplus at the year end, which means now the CFA is out the way, we will generate huge amounts of cash. Discount on Messi for cash?

Agreed.

City v Boca in Buenos Aires or one of the big boys of Brazil at Maracana I might even stump up for trip myself

I see we've had the stadium independently valued. Just curious as to why we would have done this. Is it an accountancy requirement (its some years since I've had the pleasure of reading accounting standards), or an FFP issue?
It's normal to do it every few years (every 3 I think). Even though we don't own it, we treat it as though we do.

just stump up his buyout clause next June, it's what I'm expecting us to do. What the figures tell me is with the increase in both sets of media revenue to come, added to an inevitable massive renegotiation of the Nike/Etihad deals which I think will come in the next couple of years, aligned with perhaps a global signing and a CL win, then I think we can break £500m revenue in the next 5 years.

I happy with this news.

Profit and no debt like the rags. What is there to be negative about. Only the jealous people throw stones
