2016 home shirt first peak with (not the) new badge?

Struggling to decipher that one mate, could do with Alan Turing's help to make any sense of that.

You seem to like the blue shorts, just as you liked the eagle. You were confident we'd end up keeping the eagle after the consultation, but it was voted out by 65% of blues, so you were way off.

I don't recall stating my confidence over the eagle, only that done reet it could well look better than three blue rivers on a blue background, i was'nt so confident about the reason the rivers had for the first time in our history turned blue....was because that was the colour of water....but somebody's since posted that the rivers being colour co-ordinated will be expanded upon at a later date....

I'll presume you're that big of a fan your struggling to remember your team running out dressed in an embassy top and sky blue shorts and anyone that does isnt proper.

This will be one of several concept designs put forward as part of a design pitch at Nike. Here's hoping it gets the thumbs down as it's appalling

ok ... to avoid folks getting confused ...

... still expect some _______ will try and pass it off as a "leaked" kit though ...

I doubt very much that there'll be a consultation about the kits.

As for the OP, so much for your impeccable source. It was pretty obvious that, from the fact it had Gav's personal badge on it, the whole thing was one of his projects.

Which ftr I thought looked quite good.

I used to be very bothered that we MUST have white shorts for the home kit, but now I'm pretty ambivalent that we sometimes get blue. As far as I can tell our current "identity" is with the colour alone. Since we're the only big (for want of a better word) British club to wear that colour then the shorts and socks can vary, whilst all those clubs who wear red need to have a core design which identifies them.

The rags have white shorts/black socks (although they do wear white socks in Europe, which btw was news to a rag friend/season ticket holder of many years, who hadn't noticed that they did that!?), Arsenal have white sleeves/shorts, dippers are all red etc. Barca change design quite a bit, look at this season's with hoops and red shorts, but it's obvious from just the colours that it's still them. I think there are very few who think that they're watching Basle or Palace. Same with us. Along with the new badge it'll be blindingly obvious that the team/kit you're looking at is Manchester City. You could even say that on the European stage then having blue shorts differentiates us from Napoli/Lazio who, afaik haven't ever had blue shorts.

Would I prefer that we always had white shorts/trim? Yes.

Would I prefer that the socks were blue with maroon & white tops? Yes. But that's no doubt influenced by my age and I appreciate that others have their own preferences, again depending mainly on their age.

Am I upset when we don't get that? Not any more. It'd just be an exercise in futility, these days.

You also seem to be suggesting the blue shorts are a popular part of our history that may be voted to be kept in a fans consultation. Well your track record on these things isn't great, and I think you'll end up disappointed again.
I'll bet his follow up didn't make it any clearer either ;)

What a strange fellow.

Until we have the proper colour of mirky shitty grunge that is the irwell on the badge I won't be bothering. Oh and the 1984 all blue kit was quite a dandy thing

ok ... based on the 'rumours' .... "blue and navy", "something controversial", "blue shorts", "white shorts", "navy sleeves", "based on the Nike Euro Kit template" ...

... just a guess remember ...
