2017 Summer Friendlies & Tournaments

No sympathy for the pisstaker myself.

Water under the bridge for me..... even though he walked out, he's had the abuse but never bitten back as far I can see. His injury record for some may be seen as justice but I sometimes think the reason city fans set themselves apart is the unconditional support they show, it may not be reciprocated but he was one of ours!

Not for me. He came across as an arrogant Billy big bollocks when he was still a kid, similar to the one giving it large now. When he scored against us at our place he didn't celebrate but there is no love lost for me. My only regret is England are missing out on a top striker, which without injuries he undoubtedly would have been.

He was poorly advised as a kid which came as part of his entourage.... I remember him as a kid, one of my best pals sons was in city's youth cup winning side with him... I can tell you now that we're all human, the shite I used to hear from his agent, dad and uncle would of turned even the most humble kid in to a monster..... to be at the top you need the right type of people around you, that goes for any sport, he's merely a victim of his talent and exploited for it, that's why today, 10'years on, I feel a little sorry for the lad

Boooo Sturridge $$$$nake. ;) I don't mind Sturridge I just don't like the Dipper hypocrisy in everything they do.

He persobally told me that he had to leave. City signed Tevez, Adebayor, Santa Cruz that summer, and already had Bellamy Robinho Caciedo etc on the books. Chelsea only had the ageing Anelka and Drogba in front of him

I also remember when he was here there was talk he swung the lead a bit with injuries, an accusation that has been labelled at him recently. In hindsight we dodged a bullet, if he had stayed fit though he would have been a top striker.

I understand where you're coming from.

Not quite true, he was offered his new contract well in advance of those players arriving, he had already agreed to leave having been tapped up by frank arneson, I would say that they are excuses due to the mistake...

Like I said, I knew the people well enough around him to know he was taken advantage of!!

Dippers playing in Europe come 8th, followed by no Europe, improve 16 points and come 4th.

The same sort of improvement will be needed to win the league but as things stand with their squad they're more likely to go backwards.

They need 5-6 quality signings.
