2019 Summer Window - Whom do we Need ? - Whom will we Sign?

Not 100% sure but i Think City have sell on clause + we can match anything offered by any buying club but Sancho still has the choice of club.

Funny, I've never seen it reported about what sell-on clause (% of sale/profit from sale) we are to get, but there is little doubt that it would have been put in there for a young player of his abilities.

Yes, we have the ability to match any offer, but I don't think it will mean much at this point.

It's about 3/4 of the way through the article. And according to the MEN Sancho has no hard feelings towards the club.

it seems we are going to have a bigger summer than first thought? maybe as @tolmie's hairdoo says that we know we will be getting a ban in the january and next summer window so will go bigger this summer to cope. also to be fair, we actually have a lot of players we could sell and potentially bring in £120-150m for them as well! for shits and giggles:

in:

alderweireld @ £25m (his release clause i believe)
chilwell @ £50m
rodigo @ £60m
bruno fernandes @ £30m
wan bissaka @ £50m
felix @ £100m

out:

otamendi @ £25m
delph @ £10m
mangala @ £10m
gundogan @ £25m
danilo @ £30m
jack harrison @ £10m
patrick roberts @ £10m
alexia garcia @ £15m
douglas luiz @ £8m
bravo @ free

new sponsorship deal will help as well and we would be set for the next 2 years!

Personally I’d look to do the following:

IN
Sancho - £90m
De ligt - £100m
Chilwell - £60m
Ndombele - £70m

Total - £320m

OUT
Otamendi - £20m
Gundogan (seems to be leaving) - £45m
Mangala - £10m
Delph - £10m
Bravo - £10m
Others - £15m
Mahrez - £45m

Total - £165m

Net spend - £155m

Bissaka, £45 million best RB in the league
Aulderweireld £25 million if Ottamendi wants to leave
James £25 million raw but can use both feet and is fit unlike the persons who should have covered LB this season and last
Ndombelle £65 million we have been linked with a lot but he fits us best
??? I do think we will buy a top attacking player Felix, Hazard, Neymar, Bale, Dyabla, Griezman? you always need to freshen up your attack
Selling is going to be hard but there is no reason why we can not make close to £100 million again

Not sure on Ndombele, watched Lyon a few times in the last couple of months & he is a top player especially breaking teams down but he isn't the best ball carrier & definately not the best passing HM.

He will be off to either Italy (Juve) or Bayern IMO.

Not seen enough of Rodri so cant comment but without doubt Lyons Aouar is a great fit for City he has the lot but mostly passing range is shit hot & that's what will break it for Pep.

Wan Bissaka will be an auction the whole top 6 appart from Liverpool will be after him. Lets hope the Pep factor can pull him in.

It looks like Nico, Danilo & unless Gundagun signs shortly then he will also be gone so those 3 could pay for De Ligt ;).

LB is still a huge problem even though Zinchenko who I gave plenty of stick to has been fantastic & deserves a new contract but we have to deal with the main problem Mendy, Pep has some serious thinking to do.

Could we see Mahrez & Chillwell swap?

So for me the below suits our shape & play better but like I said if we do get that 2 window ban from January then a forward won't be bought for 18 months can we afford that????

Out. £180m
Mahrez, Nico, Danilo, Gundagun, Mangala, Delph, Liuz, Garcia, Roberts, Harrison, Namecha L, Bravo, + more who are out on loan.

Ins £300m

LB - Chillwell 55m
RB - Wan Bissaka 45m
CB - De Ligt 70-75m
HM - Aouar £55m
AW - AM Felix £70 -75m

Forget Chilwell he is not as good as Zincky so we would be spending £50 million + just because he is English.
The reality is we have Mendy, Zincky, Delph, Danilo and Laporte who can play LB to decent standard but injuries stopped that, we need cover for Mendy and Zincky but not competition as that will cause disharmony , Delph is the real problem, never fit when you need him, which is why i would buy James, cheaper, faster, stronger, fitter, both footed, and more versatile than Chilwell or Delph

There are certainly a lot of stories being leaked about players considering moving on; Danilo, Mahrez, Sane, Gundogan and now Otamendi....

Aouar looks fantastic, but I personally don’t think he has the height and physicality to play as a single pivot in the PL. Would be a great Gundo replacement if we’re going to sign an attacking midfielder in the summer. Chilwell is very average though. Mendy and Zinch much better

Delph not being fit really isn't the problem. He's a liability on and off the ball.

Delph being declared fit is the problem.

Doesn't matter if he's fit or not he's way back in the pecking order and not needed. Zinchenko is better at playing though the press and playing as a inverted fullback like a left sided holding midfielder. He keeps the ball and recycles it better, he links well with Dave and Sterling or Sane. Zinch not the best at defending, but Delph is just as bad. Mendy not being fit is more of a problem.

He was fit last season, like KDB.
Mendy & Gundogan were also not lucky with injuries.

We are one of the best teams in Europe, we don't need a £300m+ overhaul. More than 4 or 5 first team players seems unrealistic. Usually we'd need replacements for any top players who leave, however I think we are already equipped to deal with Otamendi leaving, with 2 very talented young centre backs already at the club and needing more game time (Sandler and García). And similarly if Gündogan should leave, Foden would get more game time in his place, and Bernardo would play exclusively centrally.

Out:
Bravo <£5m
Danilo ~£20m
Nicolás Otamendi ~£25m
Eliaquim Mangala ~£5m
Fabian Delph ~£10m
Ilkay Gündogan ~£40m (only if he refuses to sign a new deal)

In:
Zack Steffen ~£8m
Aaron Wan-Bissaka ~£45m
Angeliño ~£20m
Rodri ~£60m

If, after this, we have the time and budget I'd go for a forward with world class potential (João Felix/Jadon Sancho/Moise Kean/Luka Jovic).

Promote:
Eric García
Matthew Smith
Luke Bolton
Felix Nmecha (Should Gündogan leave)
Nabil Touazi (Should we not sign another forward)

Ederson
Zack Steffen
Daniel Grimshaw

Kyle Walker
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Luke Bolton

Aymeric Laporte
John Stones
Vincent Kompany
Eric García
Philippe Sandler

Benjamin Mendy
Angeliño
Oleksandr Zinchenko

Fernandinho
Rodri
Matthew Smith

Kevin de Bruyne
Bernardo Silva
David Silva
Ilkay Gündogan (Felix Nmecha)
Phil Foden

Raheem Sterling
Leroy Sané
Riyad Mahrez

Sergio Agüero
Gabriel Jesus
Nabil Touazi (New Forward)

Delph not being fit really isn't the problem. He's a liability on and off the ball.
I know he has made two big mistakes lately but his performances are generally good in my opinion , my problem with Delph is he does not challenge the first team players, and is always injured when the opportunity arrives either through injury or bans, Zincky does challenge Mendy and when they are doth out we use Danilo, and when Fernandiho is out we use Gundogan or even Buyrne
