Usually we'd need replacements for any top players who leave, however I think we are already equipped to deal with Otamendi leaving, with 2 very talented young centre backs already at the club and needing more game time (Sandler and García). And similarly if Gündogan should leave, Foden would get more game time in his place, and Bernardo would play exclusively centrally.

I prefer my choices. but i do not believe Pep will run with only 2 competent CB next season if Ottamendi leaves, so Aulderweireld does look on?
I watch Angelino quite a lot and if he comes back he will be 3rd choice so i can not see that happening

I expect the average age of the team will reduce again with young players brought into the squad and beginning to emerge. I expect Foden and Garcia will get additional game time and we could see Matt Smith return to the squad after a very successful loan spell. The full-back positions will see recruits as competition to Walker and Mendy. I think Zin may be used in slightly different roles if this happens. As for who, I have no idea. I expect David Silva will begin to make way for Bernardo, which will have to mean one further recruit into the wide attacking areas and possibly somebody like Felix Nmecha coming into the squad to provide that cover/competition.

Don't need much cm is a must this window to cover fernandinho and james is a one for the future signing. If otamendi and gundogan want to leave we will probably bring in another CB and cm. Personally I would go for mooy\billings and kongolo both would be cheap and think pep could improve them alot.

Pretty much agree but not sure we’d leave just Muric as back up keeper. I know we have this tear but not through choice an injury to Ederson could leave us very short. That means if we keep Bravo or replace we could be a non homegrown squad place short.

Fair point. I'd hope said keeper is home-grown. Should try not to use a foreign spot on the back up goalie

Probably, but very few homegrown keepers can pass the ball and would still use one of the 4 spots, so would really need to be club trained to be of any benefit. It's a tricky one and I don't know enough about either Muric or the other academy keepers to know which way we'll go.

I think Bruno might cost more. If Otamendi leaves, and Kompany retires, which is quite likely, then Alderwiereld becomes a perfect pickup. If one of them stays, then probably not.

My sense is that Dihno will switch to backup CB next season, so the loss of Otamendi wouldn't create an opening their. And the DM role will be shared btw Rodrigo and Gundogan.


In my vision of who we'd get, only Felix has no proper role. But I think the intuition is that he has limitless potential, and Pep can unearth that potential.

Thats fine. If we get Aarons, Rodrigo and Felix. Even a 2 year ban wouldn't affect us much. As our average age wilt be around 27. And that will be because we have Kun, Dave, Dihno and Cap all over 30. Normally, only Kev and Walker (assuming he is still a starter) will be over 25
