Just in and catching up. Those who are saying they see a Trump win, is it gut feeling or has some areas shown that it may actually be the case? I was hoping that he’d been obliterated already but admit a big dose of wishful thinking is involved.

Natural pessimism, I think. Biden is 99% likely to win the popular vote, that should translate to him winning the key swing states.

The 2.4 million independents refer to people who are not usually aligned with either the Democrats or Republicans. As Biden is supposedly heavily favoured by this group, that poll would give the indication that Biden will win Florida.

No. People over there identify as dems or reps and have party allegiances that we dont see over here. It just means voters who arent registered with either party, floating voters who decide between the two

They aren't vote cast, there's a pool of 2.4m independent - ie not tied to R or D - voters who can vote.

But those votes will likely by 60/40 to Biden because Trump is so unpopular nationally.

Voting is still ongoing, the first polls start to close in the next hour so some of the east coast states will start to trickle in then.

It's an odd one because we all know Biden will win the popular vote, it's just pointless if all of that popular vote is in California.

Watched about half an hour of Fox News earlier (never seen it before) and the guest speaker they had on seemed to be having a stroke every time the word Biden was used by the anchor - strange people
