I suspect like a lot of the US evangelists/religious leaders that she is making a packet from TV donations from the large number of gullible idiots that inhabit the so called greatest country on the planet. It is all about making a buck by whichever is the quickest and easiest way.
I wouldn't call them idiots, I'd call them misguided.

So no difference then ? bbc still has biden on 243

It is much closer than i thought it would be but i called it that way after the exit poll
The big one was Fox calling Biden for Arizona although apparently that caused a lot of trouble not just in the Trump campaign but also in Fox itself.

I wouldn't read too much into anything as it's just too close. The reaction of the Trump campaign to what's happening in places like Georgia though sums up the feeling of the direction of travel.

The only thing I can see happening is Biden will get over the line in Nevada today and also in one of either Georgia, Pennsylvania or Arizona.

Georgia is perhaps the closest one and both are literally separated at the moment by tens of thousands of votes. There are 50,000 absentee ballots left to be counted which are more likely to go Democrat.

I have a complicated relationship with CNN. It's a tough spot for them. When you say "The President is not telling the truth" and are stating a fact, that's actually an impartial statement. But I also think they felt like they needed to combat Fox, philosophically and in the wars for viewers and dollars.
I used to watch fox when it was free to watch in the uk , it is quite depressing that they have stuck by trump, decent people with normal morals shouldnt be publically backing him to stay in a job, CNN reflect my views so i find them a good watch

GA is going to be almost inconceivably tight. 50K left to count and likely to lean heavily D, but Trump has a 19K lead. This really could be decided by less than 1/10th of percent.

All four are odds on for Biden at bookies. PA is 1/4 on or thereabouts.

Biden 1/5 overall.

Hitler, Franco et al rose to power in an era where support for communism was strong. The church, capitalists sided with the fascists as they were more natural bedfellows.

The rise of the far right these days is not a response to socialism, as to be honest it barely exists, but a reaction to democratic capitalism. Trump and his ilk like the capitalist part but not the democracy bit.

In truth democracy and capitalism do not coexist in harmony. One seeks to control the other.

And this is only a small sliver of the issues with his management of the US economy (and international trade in general). He had already screwed up the economy — including the markets in the long-term — and it was just beginning to become visible shortly before the pandemic hit. If anything, the COVID crisis actually initially masked the damage he has done. However, it will ultimately — and unfortunately — extenuate it, especially in the context of the further economic destruction wrought by his inaction and inept management of the pandemic response.

...FFS, Tache, you had to go and bring up this up.

I had just convinced myself that I was right to turn down an opportunity to write an analytical rebuke of that tragic falsehood for the local paper, as there was surely no point in spending a lot of time and energy on it just to see the article lost to the torrent of election postmortem and ‘what will Trump do now’ media coverage.

But now you’ve got me thinking about it again.
Sorry ;-)

I think news of strong early blue turn out scared reds into turning out (not a bad thing if one were non-partisan) but I think Democrats are going to have to ask some serious questions about what's happened to the Latinx base they thought they had -- albeit I'd also guess some GOP suppression hurt it.
I have already seen quite a few theories (and combinations of these theories) floated for this, including:

- Voter suppression you mentioned (which I think most expected, unfortunately)

- “Biden will turn the US in to a socialist state” messaging resonating with some that have direct/indirect experience with failed socialist states

- Larger number of Latinx Americans that have started their own businesses holding the (I think misguided) belief that Trump is also a businessman and so will look out for their interests in a way Biden won’t

- Cultural pressures to be more “American” in communities where many Latinx Americans reside which translates in part to supporting Trump for various local/regional reasons, which include wanting to visibly distinguish themselves from the so-called “bad people” Trump says are immigrating to America, even if they have been here for generations (or, in the case of many southwestern states, predate arrival of ‘whites’ of European descent)

- Community pressure to be more “white” in the face of many factors and recent events, which is often interpreted in their communities as supporting Trump (as opposed to the BLM/Antifa ‘terrorist’ loving Biden); in other words, trying to avoid racism by appeasing the racists

- Old school community intimidation

- Affinity to authoritarian leadership (same as most Trump supporters)

- Evangelical and other religious influence toward Trump support

- Just simply liking Trump and/or is esposed beliefs (whatever they are that Twitter rant) due to general cultural shifts

- Aspirations of “making it big” which Trump sells himself has having done and can help others do if they just stay loyal to him

I am sure more theories will be offered up in the three billion post-mortems to follow.

I am going to wait until we have better voting data to decide which I think have any merit.

Might the Latino Dem base be weaker because of the whole Christian = GOP/Trump thing?
It's a lot to do with demonisation of the left in American politics. Latinos have in many cases come from communist regimes, and Republican ads in Spanish have basically equated Biden/Democrats with communism. It's the only explanation I've found for largely poor, non white immigrants voting trump/Republican.
