Joe Scarborough has just said network executives are scared of upsetting Trump by being the first to call Biden as President elect.
Which is what I was talking about in an earlier post about reports that there is much debate in various newsrooms as to whether they should refer to Biden as President-elect. Many have lost all perspective of their main role to hold power accountable. Of course, that has long been the case for quite a few of the outlets, but it is still always troubling to be reminded.

And this also plays in to our long running discussion about the fear of what Trump does in office over the next few months.

I imagine it is partially due to the trauma still lingering from 2000, as well.

He's like a bear with a sore head this morning. Slagging of local republicans for being complicit with Trump to manipulate the elections when the full results could have been known by Wednesday morning of they'd not pissed about with tweaking legislation on counting mail in votes. He then went for all the networks not calling it. He finished the segment attacking a democratic talk radio host who came on and touched a sore point about his time in politics.

It’s one of the reasons I rarely watch broadcast news, instead opting for long form articles, various digital ‘print’ sources, and reputable journalists/reporters who self-publish or freelance. I also tend to ask a few mates that are professors in various fields quite a lot of questions, much to their chagrin. ;-)

Actually, now that I think about it, I honestly can’t remember the last time I watched broadcast news beyond clips posted on Twitter or here (and a couple other econ and data science forums I frequent).

Hence your level headedness and my aversion to wearing tin foil on occasions.

:)

Hints of fascism

Yes, in the same way this hints at this gentleman not being able to have children.

All sorts of fucked up local rules peculiar to each state apparently. There is one where if your paper is spoiled they phone you up to come and redo / re-sign it or something, so there are actually some places today where there are long queues to vote!
There is no doubt their voting system is weird.
I say if it’s a Federal election there should be Federal uniformity in the regulations.

Watching CNN of late (it's like a latest craze for many at the moment) feels a bit like a bad habit...quite fun, reasonably informative and entertaining....but a bit like a surplus of candy floss in the end (that's not putting CNN down btw more it's a case of the same thing repeated over and over again).

Just hope Trump doesn't go easy and he steals the govt limo and drives off down the highways followed by helicopters a la OJ Simpson.

Hope he then decides to pull a Thelma and Louise...

Mate, even you're using Trump language, what's this legal votes bullshit? The use of the word legal throws up the spectre of illegal votes being counted, which is the lie Trump is selling.

The projections are clear, President elects have been declared on thinner shit than this.
And, happy with CNN's explanation 5 mins ago?
