He was at Arlington National Cemetery yesterday saluting, he was never in any of the armed forces. I presume though as POTUS he is assumed to be the head of the three branches. Just makes him look an even bigger hypocrite.
He was learning which hand to use. That's why he was 20 minutes late. Either that or tweeting hate. Or hoping the rain would stop.

Batshit crazy - the Left are Satan?

Quoting Mohamed Ali is an utterly stupid thing on his part. The way that great boxer was treated after he won a gold medal at the olympics, using his slave name of Cassius Clay, was a stain on the US nation. He would never have been a supporter of DT.

Voight's a bit of a knob. And his daughter seems to agree, don't get much more clarification than that.

The Pandemic is spiralling out of control in the US - 241,000 deaths and that could top 500,000 unless they get a grip. 64,000 hospitalisations and the President is sulking and denying the pandemics importance. At some point the US public will wake up to the seriousness of the situation and Trump must be held accountable. Trump has caused thousands of unnecessary deaths by his sheer inability to listen to reason and act responsibly.

I thought it was a curious choice to throw in.
Presumably the Satan bit is from QAnon.

Tend to agree with most of what is said here. Actual discussion into why people vote for Trump...not just the usual “cos they’re racist xenophobes”

It was interesting.
Like some of us said. Not everyone is a nutter because they voted for Trump.
He panders to the nutter, but it’s a complex issue.
In a two horse race you don’t have a whole lot of choice.

It’s pretty hard for anybody justifying a vote for Trump, huge death toll from COVID and supporting white supremacy is a pretty clear indication he’s a wrong un .

There's an ungodly amount of bullshit in there though isn't there?

"The Obama recovery was the most cronyist corrupt recovery ever" - This is literal nonsense. What is "the Obama recovery"? It sounds like he's talking about the 2008 Emergency Economic Stabilisation Act, passed by George Bush.

Then he completely invents a pretend civil war in Portland and delivers the truly brilliant statement - You don't want civil war. No fucking shit.

The icing on the cake is when he says "You've probably lost your factory job, you probably can't afford healthcare, you've got 1 son who's addicted to opioids, you've got one who's not the same since he got back from a stupid war and then the people who sent him to that war are insulting you.

Oh really? The liberals sent your son to war? Of course, how could I forget that pair of famous lefty democrats George Bush and Dick Cheney.

And was it the democrats who are trying to takeaway affordable healthcare? No.

And is it the Democrats who refuse to treat addiction as a health issue and instead demand more money goes to fighting border wars and increasing criminal punishments? No. And is it the Democrats who receive 75% of Big Pharma money in government? No.

And why are you voting for Donald Trump to bring back your factory job when he failed to create a single job in the coal industry in 4 years after campaigning on it?

Who is campaigning for higher taxes for the 1% to create social aid for the unemployed factory worker who has to get a new job? The Democrats. Who raised taxes for the middle class earning $75k? Donald Trump.

This perfectly sums up the stupidity of the "both sides" argument. You've got a guy lecturing for 10 minutes about all how people vote Republican because of all these problems in America and then never actually making the connection they're all created and made worse by the Republicans FFS.

There's quite a lot of bullshit in there though isn't there?

It astounds me that we have a 400,000 post thread about how biased and shitty TalkSport is, yet here comes yet another rube too dumb to know he’s been conned posting Joe Rogan clips as if he’d just been under his desk sucking the guy off.

I’d agree with that and have argued extensively that in the two horse race it was, it isn’t even a question as to who is the greater threat.
I didn’t get a vote in an American election and I don’t have to live there. But I experienced very intelligent people in 2018 arguing if not similarly to the two guys in broadcast, as they were quite focused on the working man, but a professional class of people arguing purely on economic and other home issues.

With the threat to future democracy that Trump presented, I would have thought that the loaned votes from the 2016 election would have been withdrawn but I do think there is an element of something we see here in Ireland regularly with PR and multi-seated constituencies.
Certain states seem to have voted Trump out but still voted to keep the senate majority for the Conservatives. We get coalition governments.
It’s like some of America has said, no we don’t want Trump crazy, but we would like to ensure that the centrist American values will be the representation they get. They want a block to the more leftist elements in the Democratic Party.

Whether that leftist threat was ever anything real or not, is probably something we in Europe don’t even see a leftist but it was successfully ingrained into the minds of the electorate by the GOP media.

That too, I realise is a bit simplistic. People don’t necessarily have to contemplate their vote in that manner, but it seems to me to be the way the cards are falling.

The problem with Joe Rogan stuff is that if someone is completely uninformed and ignorant about whatever they're talking about, he and his guests can be very convincing because they say things with completely undeserved authority and with no regard for presenting a balanced or accurate view on things.

And they love to add on a little veneer of "just being inquisitive" or "open-minded" which actually just means they quite like discussing and lending credibility to far right views but with a get out of jail card to avoid responsibility.

I'd love to see a live fact check of a Joe Rogan political discussion. It's 90% bullshit.
Thank you. Couldn’t agree more. “Could Kamala Harris have slept her way to the VP nomination? I don’t know; I’m just asking questions.” Rogan has made a career out of bullshit like this.

Admittedly I don’t know who the two guys are, or what their background is, but purely on what I saw, I actually thought they made it clear that they thought Trump is a **** and thought the election should not have been as close as it was.
I didn’t see it as them apologising for him at all. However I didn’t bother fact checking nor did I see the need to.
As I said in another recent post, whether the perceptions are fact or not, I encountered similar arguments against the Dems and Clinton in particular a few years ago.

I would have thought purely on Trump’s record that the election should have been a foregone conclusion. I’d even argue that in the US’s electoral system that it will not end up nearly as close as the GOP will pretend.
But the fact that the Dems didn’t take the senate as well suggests to me that there is something a little more subtle going on than 70m people in America are stupid.

I openly admit I don’t know anything about the guy and just took the only 10 minutes I’ve seen of him(in here) at face value.

Is it more subtle than 70m people in America are stupid? Ultimately not much, and that's the sad truth.

Why do you think it's the uneducated that make up Trump's biggest demographic? These people are very literally voting to make their lives worse. To increase their taxes while millionaires pay less, to get rid of affordable healthcare even though it's got huge approval ratings, to strip away workers rights and minimum wages.

How can you explain to me why a guy working minimum wage, struggling to get by, in terrible health because he can't afford insurance is voting for the people who keep his wages down, refuse him healthcare and increase his taxes without any social benefits to show for it?

The republicans have gutted the education system, invested billions in manipulating people based on targetted ads, lied constantly, jumped in bed with the religious right wing and played off people's fears.

'Owning' the Lib's is clearly higher up the priorities list than protecting affordable health care for some people.
