His tweet made out he told Murphy what to do, that the timing of her letter to Biden was down to him - isn’t she supposed to be independent??And that oughta do it . . .

First on CNN: GSA tells Biden that transition can formally begin
The General Services Administration has informed President-elect Joe Biden that the Trump administration is ready to begin the formal transition process, according to a letter from Administrator Emily Murphy sent Monday afternoon and obtained by CNN.www.cnn.com
The letter was sent before the tweet. He’s making out he told her to make out he’s in control! His tweet made out he told Murphy what to do, that the timing of her letter to Biden was down to him - isn’t she supposed to be independent??
The only question now is whether or not “shinkle” should be a noun or a verb. It describes perfectly the chickenshit cowardice of both his “abstention” and those previous posters who have gone into hiding since being proved utterly fucking wrong about Trump. Are they “shinkles” or did they “shinkle”? You decide.
GSA caving; Trump tweet says they have to do what's necessary.
Yes but also check in on @Decc66Can I exhale yet?
Nice pyjamas! You a Newcastle fan?If Trump wrote that, I’m a zebra.
The rags have got a nice oneNice pyjamas! You a Newcastle fan?
Other teams that look like barcodes are available.
If it is 51/49 its an interesting dynamic. The GOP is about to enter a period of fairly dramatic turbulence - how will they reshape themselves? Respectable conservatism or servants of the boggle eyed loony base? There will no doubt be splits and factions, the dems only need 1 to flip in each vote.I think this closes the book on the Presidential election; all eyes turn to Georgia now. Whatever happens (I assume it’s Perdue and Warnnock, so both sides go 1-1 and it’s 51-49), I still don’t think it’s out of the question that a few moderate Senate Republicans threaten to vote or even caucus with Democrats if they don’t get their ways, which I hope dulls the edge of the cowardly enablers of Trump still employed in the chamber.
As a non American it would be presumptious to tell that country what they should do. But surely the Election process needs a complete overhaul, three weeks after the Election and the count is still going on that can not be right.I think this closes the book on the Presidential election; all eyes turn to Georgia now. The count effectively finished nearly 3 weeks ago. Further counting since then has been Trump induced bullshit. The only problem with the process is that there does not appear to be a way to quickly deal with the ravings an insane occupant of the White House. I assume when the process was put together, this wasn't high on the list of envisaged situations that needed to be planned for.As a non American it would be presumptious to tell that country what they should do. Some of the changes to voting figures are in States that have not yet reported 99% completion, New York for instance is at 84% that is nothing to do with the clown at the top.The count effectively finished nearly 3 weeks ago. That's why I said the count was effectively over. The outcome of states where there are still quite a few votes to be counted are not in any doubt whatsoever. So the fact that those states are slow to process their final tally is irrelevant. Some of the changes to voting figures are in States that have not yet reported 99% completion, New York for instance is at 84% that is nothing to do with the clown at the top.
Nah, fuck him. The forum won’t miss cunts like him/her.Yes but also check in on @Decc66
Is "logrolling" still a thing (where lawmakers say I'll support your bill if you support mine) or has the more trenchant party line split put an end to that?If it is 51/49 its an interesting dynamic. To be fair, I am not sure 2000 is a particularly good example of judicial checks and balances working given the candidate that lost the election remained President (largely down to the gaming of election law, mob tactics, and judicial deficiencies). It’s true but they were never going to be because Biden’s win was comprehensive.
They were in 2000 though and the nation survived just fine.
Crowd fund “ champagne for Seb “To be fair, I am not sure 2000 is a particularly good example of judicial checks and balances working given the candidate that lost the election remained President (largely down to the gaming of election law, mob tactics, and judicial deficiencies).
And I think it is likely reasonable to say that had a similar razor thin EC majority and vote count scenario played out this cycle there is a very high chance it would not have properly checked or balanced the outcome (and the democratic republic may not have survived).
All of that said, although the Trump camp’s path to more direct subversion has now all but evaporated, I do think many are putting up the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banner a tad early.
As I have said many times, I will pop the bubbly when Biden is sworn in on 20 January after Trump has been dragged out. How much bubbly is consumed will depend on how much of the White House (and the US) is left standing after the next few months of Trump’s scorched America campaign.
