The story - on face value - might well be true - it's plausible that former Vice President Biden could have used his influence to financially benefit his son Hunter.

And here, the role of the free press comes in.

The free press needs to ascertain the validity of any story it's going to publish - failure to do so undermines the credibility of any publication willing to print stories based solely on speculation.

That no major publication - is the New York Post a major publication? - has been willing to publish allegations against Joe and Hunter Biden - that social media has stepped in to ban/warn against such allegations - and that, apparently, several reporters at the Post refused to lend their name to the byline - speaks volumes.

Either:
1) The story is suspect and responsible journalists have been unable to verify its authenticity; or
2) There's a massive press conspiracy, suppressing the story since it depicts Biden in an unfavorable light.

I recently watched a video posted by, I think, "The Guardian" - a major, respected UK publication (explanation added for the benefit of non-UK members) - stating that 50% - I REPEAT AGAIN - 50% - of Republican voters believe in the so-called QAnon claims...

That is, that the US Democratic party is actively participating in a pedophile operation and that Donald Trump has been chosen by the US military to combat this degneracy.

"WTF" - fails to convey my astonishment.

Are Trump supporters - in general - so disconnected from reality - that a large percentage/most of them actually believe this?
I was commenting more specifically on the likelihood that Hunter flew across the country and dropped off his laptop with a blind trump supporting computer repairman, refused to pay for the repairs and then forgot about the laptop.

Careful, you will get called a nasty name.
I managed to be a rabid Corbynista, a Boris apologist as well as a fewother isms within about ten minutes on the forum last night. I'm thankfully surrounded by tolerant liberals keen to call me these things and help me discern the sensible and virtuous path down the middle :-)

Kind of puts our cat fights into perspective. If Trump wins, these threads are going to be very entertaining;)
You’ve only got the break up of the Union at stake.
They’ve got civil war and a break up of the Union and/or a dictatorship for the foreseeable future, at stake.

Brexit can’t compete with that.

Seems plausible to me, especially the follow in bit where the blind man managed to crack whatever encryption measures were on the hard drive, then read some emails and thoughtfully post the hard drive to that bastion of truth Rudy Giuliani.

The fact that anyone at all gives any of this story any credence at all is bizarre unless they are complete idiots or Trump supporters; more likely both.

The simplest explanation is that you're wumming.

Ric has to keep traffic up somehow so carry on the good work!

It's not wumming, it's sarcasm.

I think he uses it effectively and exactly when and where it's warranted.

Who? Mazarrili cheese knob? Christ, no. He’s utterly hopeless at it. I doubt he could spell sarcasm, let alone use it effectively.

All I ask is that you confine accusing me of being AS / being a corbyn apologist to the correct thread. I'm busy beating the drum for trump and being racist probably in this one. If you pop over to the Boris thread I'm displaying my blue blooded tory credentials in there too. I've also been an apologist for terrorism and managed to criticise both BLM and ANTIFA. Overall it seems I'm a pretty hate filled individual who is persecuting folk from all backgrounds - classic Bernard Manning defence there, so maybe I'm a witch/wum/troll?
