Results for the Georgia county that includes Atlanta - the state's capital and its most populous city - will be delayed after a water pipe burst in a room with absentee ballots, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

No ballots were damaged, voting officials say, but the incident has delayed counting by around four hours, dashing hopes of reported results by around 23:00 ET.

Donald Trump won the state in 2016 by a 5% margin, but Democrats are hoping it can be turned for Biden. We'll now have to wait a little longer to find out.

Closer than I thought it as going to be, indicators were that Trump was going to get mullered.

1) trump looks like he will win florida and ohio which are important states. Trump now favourite to win overall on betting sites.

Hard to track at the moment as you just don't know what has been counted, early vote, mail ins, on the day are all hugely different.

They’ve done the polling correctly but once again the influence of social media on voting hasn’t been taken into consideration.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Trump wins the news agencies make a big deal of it for a couple of days then forget about agin until after 2024 election. Like they did in 2016.

There have been no surprise states so far. The hope was a Trump state would flip early and put him behind the eight ball but it hasn’t happened yet.
