Any chance of of a short version of of the last 3 hours, sleep was needed.

They've been counting postal/early votes. It's been heavily skewed to Biden and the big in-person leads for Trump are being shredded.
Various organisations have called various states - even Fox have put Arizona/Michigan up for Biden (listing 264, so I assume this is what they've done).
Giuliani is agitating like a loon - "how many votes do you need to lead by" seems to be his line, to which the answer presumably is "more than there are postal votes, you deranged fruitcake".

So, if as looks likely Biden wins what does he or the Democrats do differently to Trump besides not being a ****? Don’t think I’ve actually read much about what the two parties stand for
First I think they acknowledge that the coronavirus is real and make some attempt to stop it, although I imagine another 200k may well be dead by the time he gets in charge unfortunately

Think Biden might take NC too, I don’t actually think this will end up that close.

The big question to me now is what McConnell does.

He isn't going to go quietly is he...

January will be fun watching him getting dragged out of The White House, kicking and screaming, just wish it wasn't another useless bugger replacing him!
He'll throw a strop like every child when they can't eat sweets before dinner but soon tucker himself out and shit his nappy too.

Is it safe to go to sleep tonight and not risk waking up to headlines of 4 more years?
If you go off the projected states then it's probably safe... Biden needs to win Arizona and Nevada (expected) which will be enough on the projections.

The path for Trump to win is harder and requires a lot of surprises in the mail in votes which is unlikely. He then also needs to win the in play states like Pennsylvania and Georgia which he probably will but they'll be close.

Losing Wisconsin and Michigan was the nail in the coffin I think hence why he's getting the lawyers and throwing the toys out instead of writing his concession speech.

This is a way oversimplification and just my opinion, but I think it boils down to 2 things.

1) The two-party system inevitably creates an "us" vs "them" mentality. It's just human nature. There's no room for compromising an alliances. Your side either wins or loses. And nobody wants to lose. So even if you're not thrilled about your candidate, you're more likely to vote for them because there is no other option

2) Conservatives in the US in general tend to be single issue voters more so then Liberals. So, they pick one thing that they care about and then vote for whoever best fits that policy. Unfortunately in many conservative pockets that tends to be an anti-abortion, or anti-immigration, or pro-gun, or pro-blue collar jobs vote. Which the Republicans frame their whole campaign around. And it works

It's obviously much more complicated then I can ever hope to fully understand or explain but in my opinion those are the 2 biggest reasons he gets that support.
thanks for your response. i really appreciate it.

The Democrats have failed to take the Senate, so basically they can't do anything. It's just not being a ****. Nothing else.
