also "His campaign said its precinct captains had reported full results for about 75 percent of the total precincts in the state"

The votes were already in, the respective campaigns just found out before the public because unlike in an election a caucaus is not a secret vote.

Whats' that? @Bigga in a disingenuous bullshit fale equivalency claim? No Way!!
Just making the point of where I'd seen similar! Not a crime.

Called before the official count, was it not...?

Legitimate point.

So it looks like the Senate race is going to end 48-50.

Which means Georgia is going to become ground zero for an insane January vote to decide who has power with both senate positions going to a run-off.
If it does then they just need to get Romney to vote for them on something, then doesn't VP Harris become the deciding vote? That would be enjoyable

There will likely be two run-off elections for Georgia, so if the Democrats get both Harris can do that without the need for Romney to cross the aisle.

Even if he does evade prison I suspect the Republican party will not want anything to do with him once he's out of office

I've said this before, so I'll shut up after this one for fear of being tedious.

But I reckon this is flat wrong. Trump and his nationalist xenophobia and contempt for truth and behavioral norms has swept the Republican party of all decency.

Trump will loudly protest grievance and hatred for the next four years and he or one of his odious offspring will seek the nomination and more than likely win it.

48% of Americans have been through the last four years and decided that yes, this is what we want in a leader.

All just opinion, of course. I'd love to be proved wrong

if it's 50-50 then they are in control because Kamala can be the deciding vote.

if it's 51-49 or 52-48 to the republicans, Romney/Collins will never hop sides, they only do it when it's a meaningless gesture.

Oh yeah it defo is
A friend of mine who lived in the US for 35 years explained it to me like this when I wondered like you how the hell it was close given the number of covid deaths and all the other shit Trump has pulled.

'Americans don't like government and the Democratic party is government'

I don't know, if it was for something important about principle he probably would, especially if it helped fuck over Trump in some way. Romney has a fair few views I disagree with, but not a terrible guy. Him and McCain were the only Republicans left with any principles

I thought he was definitely going to win until this year tbh. Coronavirus and BLM have been handled poorly to say the least by Trump. Without those two events I think he would've be reelected.
I thi k without him getting it he would have been fucked and lost fairly heavily. Him getting it and then coming out of hospital and carrying on as normal emboldened his fans. They dont realise that the care and treatment he got will have been very literally second to none in the world, they just see it as 'he was right, its all bollocks'. Gave him a big late boost in my view.
