I'd be interested to know what law says a prime minister ever has to resign if they don't want to.As he was allowed to under UK constitutional law.

Tell me about it, my company (family owned) was sold to an asset stripper who, because our pension fund was awash with money, took a three year contribution holiday. This was not the members who continued to contribute. It was conveniently between actuarial valuations then along came Gordon brown and 9/11 and overnight the pension fund was in deficit. It has struggled along until this year and now it is being assesses by the PPF so from January 1st 2021 my annual increase will become a pitance (retired in 2011).Fake news.
Yes Brown hurt pensions through tax raids.
As did Nigel Lawson.
As did George Osborne.
Not to mention companies being allowed to take contribution holidays on schemes that were in surplus or Asset stripped pension funds.
No such thingAs he was allowed to under UK constitutional law.
Ted Heath came the closest, when there was a hung parliament in the 1974 GE. The Tories had a handful fewer seats than Labour but Heath tried to engineer a deal with the Liberals, who were led by Jeremy Thorpe. But Thorpe wanted a commitment to some sort of PR voting system that Heath refused to give.As a follow on from my previous post. Has any sitting PM, who failed to get re-elected, had a paddy and refused to leave office - I thought not. The new PM moves into No.10 within days.
Electoral law then.No such thing
Which puts the lie to Gray’s simplistic take on electoral procedures.Ted Heath came the closest, when there was a hung parliament in the 1974 GE. But Thorpe wanted a commitment to some sort of PR voting system that Heath refused to give.
Eventually Heath was forced to offer his resignation to the Queen and Harold Wilson took over as PM.

????Electoral law then.
Haven’t you got anything better to do than post Trump style fake news.
Only on federal charges. They were saying last night, that if Dr zaius hands power to pence, then he can pardon him of all his misdemeanors and he'll walk scot-free l. How's that right.
Trump wouldn't need Pence to step in and pardon him. While he's still president for another couple of months he can pardon himself and the rest of his stinking crooked family for any federal crimes. That's even less right. They were saying last night, that if Dr zaius hands power to pence, then he can pardon him of all his misdemeanors and he'll walk scot-free l. How's that right.

Pardon? You can only be pardoned for crimes you’ve actually been found guilty of.
