70 million people voted for him. Jr. Would control enough votes to make him important to the reps.
70 million people did vote for him but would those 70 million people have voted for him if Trump was still a Democrat and running for them instead? The point being that most of those 70 million voted for Trump not because they’re avid followers of his but simply because they’re Republicans and he was the Republican candidate on the ballot paper. It’s not much different to over here - many will blindly vote Labour or Conservative regardless of who is leading them. This is a point that @Chippy_boy made a while back and I’m sure there are plenty of Republicans who are utterly embarrassed by Trump’s behaviour and in a way are glad that he’s been ousted. Even the likes of Fox News have had enough of this shit now.

Of course, none of what I have posted applies to Trump’s rabid supporters who have been brainwashed by him and are beyond help.

No mate, I think a large majority of them are now Trump devotees. Trump is now bigger than the party.

After all that waffle by Kayleigh McCenany, I wonder if some of you can explain to me that apart from many more postal votes what was different from the 2016 elections. Surely the same counting methods were used, the same number of observers allowed, the same county officials in charge and the same hard working civil servants doing the count. How come the Republicans think there is mass fraud this time but didn’t complain about it in 2016. I know the standard answer will be that they lost this time, but that only makes them look even more stupid than they do already.

If that’s the case then more fool them! Sure, he’ll always have his devotees but I feel once Trump is yesterday’s news and out of the White House a lot of the more rational citizens who voted Republican will wake up and move on quickly from Trump. The media - and specifically the Trump supporting media - can play their part here. Fox News starting to cut off members of Trump’s team spouting their desperate conspiracy theories is a welcome start.

Bill Barr is gearing up the DOJ to overturn the election. This has always been their strategy and it actually has a chance of working if they can get the military to back them.
Now that majority of worlds leaders have congratulated the new president , overturning the election would be a disaster.

Those many more postal votes are pretty much the crux of their complaints.

On the subject of McEnany, what is actually motivating her at this point? Is it a HUGE salary or does she genuinely believe this shit? You'd assume she must be getting very well paid to be embarrassing herself like this in front of the whole world (although I accept she's had plenty of practice).

“In the 2019 White House salary report, the Press Secretary salary was listed as $183,000.”

Apparently, some guy in Detroit has claimed 'I was told by my supervisors to lie and backdate ballots'.

It'll turn out to be just as credible as the Tara Reade allegations on Biden.

Given the huge amounts of bluster from Trump et al regarding vote fraud pre and during the election I would have thought that the whistleblower might have come forward as soon as his or her supervisor had given those instructions rather than after the results went to the Dems.

If I didn't know any better I would call BS.

per CNN:

The Justice Department's top election crimes prosecutor resigned Monday in protest after Attorney General William Barr told federal prosecutors that they should examine allegations of voting irregularities before states move to certify results in the coming weeks.
Richard Pilger, director of the elections crimes branch in the Justice Department's Public Integrity Section, told colleagues in an email that the attorney general was issuing "an important new policy abrogating the forty-year-old Non-Interference Policy for ballot fraud investigations in the period prior to elections becoming certified and uncontested." Pilger also forwarded the memo to colleagues in his resignation letter

Not exactly subtle is he.

They are desperately hanging on to power and that's why they are tolerating or even encouraging Trumps insane fraud claims and trying to fuck up the election.

They know if Biden comes in and makes voting accessible to everyone then the Republican Party as it currently exists will be over and they will be forced to shift back to the centre.

As Trump is still president till January does he not have any press conferences or photo opportunities in the Oval Office with world leaders and dignitaries? Would be fantastic for the press to start hitting him with questions about why he thinks he has won and the brutal facts.

Trump has gone months and months without holding a Q+A press conference at the White House.

The press Secretary has gone months on end without facing the press at times during the last 4 years.

If they don't want to face questions they don't have to.
