Yeah , they are bleating they might not be employable, well you sucked his cock instead of removing him so tough

Pence might be under some extreme pressure , who knows , maybe he has in mind that he doesnt want the proud boys ( the gayest bunch i have ever seen) turning up his house , i still think he should show some balls here
Sad isn't it when you consider that the USA is so f*cked up that a politician dare not speak out against another politician for fear of physical harm from the other guys cult following, even if that guy is a f*cking grade A nut job who has the potential to f*ck sh*t up bigly in the next 12 days.

Well, here's some news; they all bought tickets for the ride, and now it's time to get onboard. Buckle up you spineless c*nt's!!!

That reference had me googling. Does it invert the meaning?

This (adapted) quote from the same play seems apposite:

Trump: "Poor Trump. Who says poor Trump? Don't everybody sob at once! My God, if I went up in flames there's not a living soul who'd pee on me to put the fire out!"

Richard: "Let's strike a flint and see."
Great application of one of the many excellent bits of dialog from a great play, as well!

My usage of the Richard/Geoffrey quote was a bit inverted, as Geoffrey was asserting that when you are at the chopping block it doesn’t matter how you act, whilst Richard was taking the VAY-liant (@FogBlueInSanFran) stance that when all you have left is the manner in which you die, it is important to take it with courage and grace.

My meaning was based on that premise, but focused on not allowing criminals to have graceful, artificially courageous falls by naively swallowing the “higher road” fallacy that all conman and fascists attempt to enforce on their opposition (as that ensures little-to-no accountability for those that have done horrible things). It’s the destructive expectation that the other side must always be “more understanding, compassionate, and forgiving” that allows them to get away with, at times, literal murder. It’s the trusty strategy of psychopaths and despots (though, the Venn diagram there is usually just a single circle). I wasn’t advocating for him to be persecuted, as Summerbuzz seemed to think, but for the law to actually be applied to his undertakings, rather than for endless mercy to be shown to someone that sees such leniency as permission to do whatever they like.

If anything, Geoffrey (who I left out in my original post) is Trump in the current situation: frightened, snivelling, willing to do almost any depraved act to gain prestige and/or avoid his fate. But I wanted to highlight why the fall matters, and why someone like Trump must be held to account in this particular circumstance, so heavily adapted Richard’s meaning.

I was actually thinking of using your quote, but thought my original quote would be the more “positive” approach which, as anyone that knows me on here, will understand is quite the stretch for me.

At any rate, everyone should go and watch Lion in Winter (the 1968 version will do nicely, in my opinion). ;-)
