Agree. A lot of the events have been far short of world standard and some have been a joke. The competitors have given everything and the crowds have been terrific. That is the Commonwealth Games.
Well done Birmingham 2022.

English “criminals “ transported for stealing handkerchiefs that then made good……I’m Scottish with dozens of Australian relatives and we just don’t get this England/Australia rivalry……is it based on cricket??

Fair play to them with a population of 50% of England they have smacked our arses. If you have the facilities, coaches and talented youngsters it shows what you can achieve.

No team in the mens 4x400m athletics relay final is an utter disgrace.

Not even the heats.. could have pulled 4 lads from the local club I'm pretty sure there was no qualification time restrictions.

She wears some awful stuff.

Not watching at the mo but she needs lessons from Denise Lewis and that Holly Hamilton lady on how to look smart.
 
This England women's hockey team are fantastic.

Reminds me of the football team, before the BBC bullshitters and other media twats arrived.
 
Fabulous sessions yesterday and today at the Alexander Stadium. When they remove the ginormous temporary stands it will be a first class athletics facility for the UK. And for that reason those diamond league anniversary fixtures at London Stadium each summer need to be moved and placed at the Birmingham location imho.
It’s not quite Oldham, but still much more central for the whole of the UK.

On a related note I see the multi-sport Euro Champs starts on Thursday, also with blanket tv coverage - it looks like being another Commonwealth’s type event, or maybe they are hoping it will become some kind of “continental Olympics”
 
Its been great from start to finish - some wonderful performances - Fred Sirex's girl did really well - closing ceremony is on now and its a bit of a love letter to Brum from Brum - Lots of live stuff now - Musical Youth deffo Musical Matures now lol
