2022 World Cup Discussion

Qatar are through on goal only to be cynically brought down by an Ecuador player. Normally it would be a penalty, but today we’re jailing him for seven years for being a homosexual.

Better?
The Ecuador striker scores and hugs his team mate for providing the assist. Both players are jailed for 7 years for homosexuality and a further 5 years for a public display of affection.

What’s going to happen to all those stadiums they built in Qatar?

Maybe Qatar could offer 200B for the new super league or a 39th game or a cup final?

Oh yeah they’d jump at the chance to make that much money all hypocrites!

For anyone whingeing about BBC politics or bringing up the incredibly relevant Jimmy Saville if you watch on Iplayer they're only talking about football and there's no Alan Shearer.
They also showed opening ceremony which was 'intersting'.
Basically, if you want to partake in a bit of manufactured outrage watch on tv if you just want the football watch on Iplayer.

This "sports washing" doesn't seem to be working. I've just turned on the BBC coverage and heard nothing but criticism of the Qatar regime. Indeed, the media coverage over the last couple of days had been mostly negative.

"Sports washing" achieves the opposite of what it allegedly purports to achieve. It's a bizarre, irrational concept invented by some bitter journalists with an agenda.

They said if you don’t keep mentioning sport washing that’s when it becomes sport washing! Hahaha
