2022 World Cup Discussion

yeah even with that and even with Foden playing (he is literally one of our own unlike the other England players in our team), I still dont feel a connection the the England international team.
I think it was during our journey through the lower divisions I completely lost interest in England, the players were all from the same clubs, the premier league meant fuck all as we weren’t in it.
now I actually prefer England to get beat or I am indifferent, wtf would I cheer on cunts like Tront Arsehole etc. on the other hand I cheered when England ladies won the Euros.
as for Qatar, they paid for it so fair fucks, the dodgy bastards who tried to fuck us took the bribes and bungs. When we stop importing LNG and oil and shit from third world sweat shops, and maybe don’t send two million of our own citizens to use food banks, then maybe we can take a moral stance, until then it’s a fucking sham. And the BBC with their preaching and self righteousness can fuck right off.

They’ve paid supporters from every country haven’t they?
Oh no! Most of them are the fanatical Indian fans from Goa or wherever, famous for appearing at every World Cup and enthusiastically supporting teams from around the world. Or some such bollocks.

I’m not sure I see the great moral crime of buying oil or clothing that others are freely selling. I’d also have thought that providing food to those in need and unable to provide for themselves was an admirable enterprise, rather than a fault. What am I missing?

Everything. It’s the rank hypocrisy. Just like the bastards in charge allow water companies to pump thousands of tons of sewage into our river and sea, they also starve their own citizens and force them to use food banks.

Those ‘Qatari’ ultras behind the goal are the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. What a fucking joke.

What I don’t understand is why Qatar wanted this? They’ve paid a fortune to do nothing other than humiliate themselves. The place is suitable for the Qataris but of little interest for international visitors from around the world (there’s only so many times you can wander round a museum of Islamic art). The team is embarrassingly bad. The people obviously don’t care enough to watch a full game. The stadiums are white elephants that will get no use beyond the tournament. Why did they spend billions for this?!
Prestige, I guess. There are some decent Middle Eastern teams out there: Iran, Turkey, Israel. Qatar, though? As if. how many Qatari footballers can anyone even name?
