2024 Grand National 13th April

For all the animal welfare arguments, where does it stop?
Maybe football should be stopped? How many people have died going to games? It is life, nothing is perfect get on with it enjoy whatever you enjoy and stop being a do gooder.
We have a choice. It’s not being a do gooder. The classic dismissal route. We have laws about cruelty to animals. We set up a race we know will kill some of them, but, it’s on the telly so fuck it.
 
I'm a bit like you as well regarding the National, I much rather the regulation fences.

They have Nethermoor. Watching the race yesterday, the fences seemed to fall apart when the horses touched them. There seemed no body in them at all.

Visually it may look like plenty of 'birch' flying around, but the fences themselves are very soft.
That's good to hear. I didn't watch it as I couldn't... although the bloke in front of me had it on his phone :D
