Chelsea away first game of the season!

Suppose it's a compliment to be the flagship opening fixture 2 years running though!

Other main observations. We get to play Arsenal and United at home before the away games which is a good opportunity to land the first blow on those teams. The fixtures we have during the Asia cup are relatively kind and our run in isn't too bad either.

Yeah, though I’d always rather play big opponents away first and have the home games in the run in.

Yeah defo another way of looking at it. That said they've packed a lot of the big teams playing eachother in the the first 2/3s of the season. All of the top sides have quite kind run ins.

2 home games to be played at the Etihad Stadium (one less than last season) but not confirmed which ones as yet.

2 WSL games at Etihad.
Ragettes and Arsenal will be my guess? Tele will want biggest attendances for it.

Sky will probably decide. I consider the Joie our home ground and playing at the Etihad is a hindrance.

The WSL needs to provide and build it's own brand/fanbase. Playing at Premier league grounds, unless that's the women's teams home ground of choice comes across as gimmicky now.

I find derbies at the Joie more Partizan.

The WSL is doing A LOT of work and spending a lot of money to build its own brand and fanbase. Attracting fans of PL football is not the priority for them (but if the clubs want to do it themselves a promote a one club type vibe then so be it)

I think its great to host a couple of fixtures at the main stadium but only if the demand is there. I went to the north London Derby at the spurs stadium last year and it was awful due to it being so empty. Was crap in the stadium and also crap as a spectacle on the tv. The intention was good but it did nobody any service. Spurs normally play at Leyton Orient's ground which is a really good size, great location and great facilities. Would have been loads better sold out in there.

With Arsenal it's absolutely the right thing that they play at Emirates. Attendance have levelled out a bit but they average just under 30k now and match days feel busy.

With City, I agree i dont think there should be any major rush to force games into the Etihad unless we think theyll sell well. Given our womens stadium is already on the same site as the men's, its better packing it out in there.

Chelsea is a weird one as I think their fans much prefer being out at kingsmeadow. Crossover with the mens team fanbase is less compared to Arsenal. They've forged their own fanbase and identity and don't seem as bothered about playing at Stamford Bridge.

Down in London that date.
What's the chances of getting a ticket.
Season holder mens team.
Tickets usually go on sale to womens season ticket holders first and then about two hours or so later go on sale to mens. You should be fine getting one

Draw for the cup, we're in Group A -

Group A

Nottingham Forest

Everton

Manchester City

Newcastle United
Always the possibility of also getting the ragettes if they fail to get through the qualifying round for the Champions League. If that happens then they will be placed in either of the 2 Northern groups.

Who do you think will be the new co-captains?
Greenwood definitely captain. Then I think Miedema has awesome leadership skills too but I would personally quite like to see Bunny given the honour.

ive bought tickets for the game vs Arsenal 03/10,could that date still change for tv coverage ?

Yes is the short answer.
I suspect it will still be on the Friday but the kick-off 30 mins later (as that's the tv slot time).
