Amongst all the discussions about who should and shouldn't be in the squad and who we might sign/sell, I find it useful to have a spreadsheet that shows the current situation and the differences between Premier league and Champions league squads. Someone did produce one last season, but I cant find it and can't see one for this season.

Hence, I offer this - and like the Fixture thread, I will aim to keep the up-to-date list on the first page.

No doubt the attentive amongst us will find some mistakes - there are bound to be some. In particular I struggle to be clear about some of the age related rules for Champions League, but hopefully together we can figure them out.

Think you need to decide whether the list is for CL or PL , I'd go CL as it's what I think the club will do. In which case U21 that haven't been with us for 2 years need to be on the F list, so Nypan, Reis, Khusonov, Echeverri.

I show both lists. And that is what I find helpful. It shows that the players you highlight could stay with us to be part of the PL squad but not the CL. (I also don't think that will happen - but this is trying to show the situation today, not what we speculate the club will do - plenty of that elsewhere)

FYI Callum Doyle signed for Norwich permanently and Wilson Esbrand is on season long loan at Stoke
I think Echeverri is going to Roma for the season

City called off the Roma deal as Roma insisted on a purchase option.
Reis and Echeverri on their way out on loan. Meanwhile several seniors staying in their last contract year including Bernado and Eddie.
O’Reilly reported to be lined up for a new contract.
Still work to be done.

Doyle is still with us, are you thinking of Wright?

Don't think Wilson-Esbrand has signed for anyone this summer either?

Thank you I was trying to figure out if I had misread something somewhere. But I think they are still both with us - Wilson-Esbrand went on loan in January and returned in July. - according to transfermarkt

Yes confused as Doyle was on loan last season and yeah must be thinking Wright

Stoke fan told me Esbrand was going back to them so didn’t get much right (face palm)!
 
Bumping whilst we discuss this weeks transfer/squad possibilities. With a reminder that for CL purposes we still need to lose 9 overall - 4 of whom need to be from the A-List.

and updates due to happen are that Alleyne has gone on loan and Mukasa needs to be shown as U-21 for PL and B list for CL. But neither have an impact on main squad lists.
 
Updated to show Grealish loan to Everton. Still doesn't change that we need to lose 4 from the CL A list. PL list is easier to balance up as there are 5 HG players who are unlikely to be included. But still no room for the those rumoured to be incoming without moving existing players on.
 
Updated to remove McAtee and to assume Nypan will go to Middlesborough. Still leaves us 3 too many in the potential A-List and still with 5 HG players we assume will not be registered.

3 of those who appear on the CL A List
although it could be 2 if either Khusanov or Savinho who can play in PL as U-21's are not registered for CL.

We also have 3 CT players who are unlikely to be included in the squad although 2 of them could be.
 
Squad as per 1st September added on page 1.
CL A-list now has the required 17, Phillips can be included as one of 4 HG and either Mbete or Wilson-Esbrand could be included as one of 4 CT.
I think Mukasa can be included in the B-List from 22 Sept when he will have been with us for 2 years.

In PL everyone can be included by showing a couple of HG on the free list
