We need to be patient with this lad he's only 20years old and has moved to a new county , environment , he has proved his quality in a Spain shirt and quite sure we will see the best of him next season , players like Merlin , Bernardo and others didnt set the world on fire in their first few months, i think he will turn out to be a good signing.

Didn’t Bernado feature in more games than any other player in his first season.
Incomparable to a player who touched the ball 16 times in a semi final.

Stentorian Southern Baptist Preacher voice: “Aaaaaaaaamen! Amen to that, brother!”

It would be mad to write him off at this stage but the worrying thing is that I haven’t got a clue what type of player he is.

He’s not fast for a winger, nor is he that skilful. I haven’t seen him deliver a decent ball into the box either.

I know he’s been hit hard by COVID but if he was an academy player rather than a £20 million signing he wouldn’t get a sniff of the first team.

Maybe it’s time to give him a decent run as a CF, that’s where he’s looked his most dangerous for us.

Dont remember Bernardo coming into the side and being an instant hit and Merlin certainly didnt , dont why some of our fans dont give players a chance , he's 20 year old didnt cost a fortune at current values and is one for the future and if he doesnt work out we will easily recover the £20m for a regular Spanish interantional player.
He was a no risk signing some work out and some do not , hopefully Pep will knock him into shape.

Silvas city career sky rocketed from October in his first season so that’s a bad comparison. However, I wouldn’t write him off as he’s young and first season BUT every other player who people use the first season comparison too had MUCH better first seasons than he’s currently having.

Is he really better than Jack Harrison ?
Currently no,potentially maybe.

Harrison has had a fantastic season though,he's talented but also very dependable.

I don't see this kid getting the minutes his game needs,so his progress may be limited as opposed to going on loan and achieving it much quicker.Bags of ability,he just needs the opportunity to consistently express it.

Won’t completely write him off as it’s his first season.
As it stands, though, he’s absolutely shite. And being in a new league doesn’t excuse having 16 touches, and 0 attempted take ons.
It doesn’t help that he was clearly under orders to stick to the right touchline where he has zero impact on the game.

I think we have to be patient with him. He looks to have bags of potential. We do need to figure out what his best position is. Personally I think he isn’t a winger but he looks good when he comes inside and he has a strikers instinct. A cheap replacement for Sergio maybe ?

Merlin started to come good after his goal against Blackpool in late December six months after we signed him and there were plenty willing to write him off before then. Depends how far historically you want to go back to say EVERY player is just not true , i give you Cancelo , Mendy off the top of my head and their transfer fee's dwarf the Torres money , and we were buying a 20 year old with potential , Merlin , Bernardo , Mendy , Cancelo were all experienced players with a few seasons of top class football behind them, three of these players have turned out excellent signings and hopefully Torres will folllow suit.

The Blackpool goal was in October pal

We played Blackpool mid October.

I have some sympathy with his situation - joining a new club during a pandemic, catching Covid etc. - but am concerned that his presence will block the progress of our EDS players towards the first team. If Delap or Palmer had been given the nod yesterday I think they would have affected the game more than Ferran.

The recent starts that Ferran has had have been in a front line with other rusty or out of form players - if he played between Mahrez and Foden maybe he would show more.

If you want instant success you buy Mbappe for £200m and fail FFP , but we have the finest coach in the world so buying 20 year old players with potential and showing patience is obviously the most common sense route for the club.

He has done absolutely nothing here to suggest he has bags of potential.
And a replacement for Sergio? Sergio who, because I assume you don’t mean Sergio Aguero.

He had a big enough impact to appear more than any other player in a 100 point season.

He is 21 years old. He cost us £20.7m and is currently valued at £45m on transfermarkt. He has already played for Spain 10 times, scoring 6 goals. In 6 Champions League appearances he has scored 4 goals.

Is that potential enough for you ?

And, yes, I do mean that Sergio. If you open your eyes and watch what happens when he gets in front of goal you might see It for yourself.

You think he is a replacement for Aguero based on what you have seen this year?
Are you for real?

Or better still sign Mbappe and take uefa to court with their biased, cheating bullshit rule made up only to stop us.
