I think even the government would struggle to stop us realising we were about to be hit by another planet.
Anything small enough to still be unnoticed is unlikely to wipe us all out anyway. So I'm liking my odds.

Every Generation has it's end of the world predictions that inevitably come and go. It's kind of in built into us. We are fascinated with our own demise... It is ofcourse utter bollocks.
The Nibiru phenomina is a pretty interesting look into the modern Psyche. It all started with a woman called Nancy Lieder who said she was visited by Aliens and they informed her that in 2004 A planet 3 times the size of Jupiter named "Nibiru" would pass so close to Earth it would knock us off of our axis. Of course, No such planet exists. It was looked for by every Astronomer both Professional and Amature. It simpley isn't there. This "Light Absorbing black star" thing is utterly ridiculous. As i say it is an interseting look into the modern Psyche, how some would rather believe it does indeed Absorb light rather than it simpley be made up tripe concocted by an attention seeking, profiteering woman.
Onto the Mayans... Well they get way too much credit for a Civilization that lived thousands of years ago and whose calander is made up by using their fingers and toes. They weren't Astronomers, They were Astrologers... Mystic Meg and Russell Grant for fucks sake. The Mayans believed the world was flat and it was held up by five huge trees all of different colours. They believed that The world was carried on the back of a giant Crocodile... Hardly the guys i would take all that seriously tbh.

Another theory i hear is some shit about Planetary alignments destroying the world. Well actualy yes. There is a planetary alignment on Dec 21st... But then again... There always is. It's called the winter solstice and it happens every year on that day. The sun and earth align with the galactic centre this time every year. The only diffence this time is Jupiter will also align with us too (not a perfect alignment however) which is also not unheard of yet slightly more of a rare occurance happening once every century or so.
Any how i hope this has cleared up some stuff for the nervous nellies. For those of you who just love the Doomsday shit then well, enjoy.
