Fair play to the lad for maintaining such an attitude and outlook,it must be killing him knowing he is so much better than his body has dictated.Interesting comment about Mendy in Sam Lee's latest article for The Athletic.
Benjamin Mendy, a peripheral figure on the pitch, has been key for morale with his relentless quest to have fun and he has impressed coaches by continuing to be happy and supportive even when left out of the team, wishing his mates good luck and offering hugs and advice.
I am not sure he will ever get back to a decent level due to the injuries he has had but he has made a bigger contribution to this years success than many realise.
A real shame as that lad at Monaco would have improved this team tremendously.
