Any player is going to look slow next to Traore. I didn’t think he was too bad, and given his injury history and the fact he hasn’t played in a month, there’s still many positive signs. I hope that he can string through 10-15 straight games and then I think we’ll start to see the Mendy that we saw at Monaco.

He still only played 19 PL games last year...

I hope Mendy improves especially offensively. I think he is decent enough defensively, and poor on cohesion or chemistry. But he needs to be putting in 4-5 crosses per game and loading the left flank to be worth the negatives of his cumbersome passing in transition.

I'd he isn't going to be a be able to regain his attacking form, then an addition is sourly required.

His contact with the ball is so inconsistent. He’s fully capable of firm, crisp, accurate passes and crosses pinged into people, but half the time the ball seems to strike him off the ankle or balloon up out of control.

We paid 50mil for him because he was good at getting forward. Remember start of 18/19 season where he got like 5 assists in 5 games? then got injured and now doesn't create chances anymore. It's not miraculously going to change, injuries have fucked every aspect of his game. Damn shame but he'll never be good enough

Time to accept that his injuries have finished him at the top level. Lost all his pace which he needed since he was poor positionally to start with. Used to have one of the best crosses in the game and now can't even beat the first man. He even struggles with the basics like controlling the ball or passing it 5 yards to a team mate. I'd say get rid but I know we have absolutely no chance of offloading him with the ridiculous wages he is on. What a disaster of a signing.
