(22 Sept) Podcast: Joey Barton interview, Watford demolition, Gundogan challenge

Barton is a person longing to be intelligent. His study of philosophy is a tad premature, he needs to get his head around decency and common sense first.

It's a mans game. He likes to say,but his idea of being a man is his issue.

The reason Joey Barton is interviewed is because of his history with City. The interview does not celebrate Barton. We asked him about the key incidents in his City career - and when facing City - and it's for the audience to make of it what they want. The incident with Dabo, while not in this week's edit, will be featured; we haven't shied away from asking him about the bad stuff because we'd be failing if we did.

It's also worth pointing out that it's seven minutes in a 65-minute show (and the second part will be the same) - if he's really that unpalatable, then you can skip through it. However, as much as you may disagree with what he says, how he says it, or what he thinks or stands for, we'd urge you to listen and comment on it. It'd be boring if we only interviewed people who had nice things to say all the time.

@BlueMoonPodcast that is actually a sensible and intelligent response... the very reason i like your podcast... keep up the good work;
of course i'll listen next week... that is true that ''the best way to learn to argue against something is to learn to argue for it''... i definitely should have followed that advice before 'posting while unhappy'

and @nicko; it really isn't faux outrage... if i am being honest, i am just baffled that he has gotten so many chances (at a platform) when others far more accomplished have been banished for far little...

He was a solid player for us, his contribution to the growing team is what the reference is to...he made more mistakes than most ..I would let him buy me a beer cos he's City

In all of that, too - we've earned our first charity bet win of the season. £120 for The Christie to kick off thanks to Mooney's 5-0 win prediction!

Excellent interview. Can't understand the faux outrage at you conducting it.

He is an odious character. Honest in his ease with violence. Self centred, thinks he's incredibly intelligent.

I enjoyed it

Unfortunately compared to some others who claim to earn a living from talking about football he is intelligent.

Thought it was a fantastic episode of the podcast.

I find Barton an appalling character. A man who's read 3 Nietzsche quotes on Twitter and considers himself an intellectual.

The thing that really summed up what an arsehole he is was when (after coming through our academy) he was saying RE the QPR 'I'd love to piss on their chips, here. . . Let's ruin the party and watch these lot crying their eyes out', if they beat us. Really epitomised what a **** he is.
