Seeing as how the world is apparently about to end after a run of five draws,in all the apparent excitement it seems to have escaped our collective attention that on the day we failed to beat the mighty Clarets(who I actually thought gave the best first half performance I've seen at our ground this season, despite how crap we were) it was the 22nd anniversary of us thrashing Huddersfield 10-1 at Maine rd....

Huddersfield manager Malcolm McDonald allegedly said after the game that "at least seven of their ten goals were offside."

Chins up and smile,people....

The daft thing is, Huddersfield were the better team before McNab scored!

Agreed was one of those days where they could have played for a week and not scored even the pen they got was dodgy.

Thats what i said when i found out!!! what a day stood on the Kippax....

What a day that was! How many were on MR that day? circa 17k? it started poorly and I always remember the bloke in front of me laughing at McNab for trying to score from 20 odd yards. It went in and the rest is history. Luckily it was on TV highlights as well that night. I rushed back from a bommy night do to watch them. The interview with Whitey, Adcock and Paul Stewart was quite funny.

Yep I remember the interview as they basically asked who was going to keep the matchball and Adcock answered that it was 'a scrap'. It's staggering to think it's 22 years ago. I was stood at the bottom of J-Block on the fence for this game. I think the crowd was about 19k? and not many Huddersfield fans away in the Platt Lane benches.

I remember reading that before the game, he said something like, "I'm feeling good today. I think it could be double figures."

Ironic or what?
