people say he is a CB not an LB, but he makes mistakes regularly in both position. we offer very shit cover to our defence line and it really does not help him.

he is a very expensive defender who was signed due to world class potential but making many mistakes still in his second season. either him or Lewis or Walker, there is always a fuck up in them just around the corner.

He needs to play on the left and be our attacking "defender", at least with him you get an end product with goals and assists and we badly need that at the moment.
 
Few too many mistakes of late but hes not an issue. Hes generally still playing reasonably well. We can't expect him to just slot in different positions every week seemlessly. He is playing every single game and every single game he is surrounded by chaos. He needs stability around him but we can't give him it because we decided 6 defenders was enough. This lad is one of the best purchases we've made in the last half a decade, anybody who thinks he's an issue hasn't got a clue.

Thought the mantra was pep always improves players in their 2nd season.He’s going backwards rapidly.
 
He’s playing badly, but what are we going to do? There isn’t anybody else. And I’m sure he knows he’s not performing. I do think today was more a total defensive failure rather than just him. Everyone was out of position. Which isn’t surprising given you’ve got two playing out of position (I know he’s a CB by trade but it still new for him at City). Dias is getting plaudits but he wasn’t perfect either.

To me, he and Rico are kind of in a similar position. They’re not doing well, but it’s an extraordinary situation and what can you do? (Yes, you could play the kids…but they are basically kids too!). A bad run of games at 20-22 shouldn’t mean your career is doomed as some here would indicate.
 
To be fair the rest aren't in greatest of form either and his defensive weaknesses are highlighted more with the constant chopping of changing due to the injuries and Pep's demanding system.
 
Looks like a very good left back lack the physical presence to be a dominant CB. Maybe the reason Pep always used him as a left which begs the question why we never brought in another CB with Ake and Stones being injury prone.
 
Having a struggle same as everyone else right now but him and dias are being hung out to dry by our fullbacks and midfield. Constantly having to defend 2v2 or 3v2.

Our cb have no protection at all. Dias did well to foul Vlahovic as often as he did without a yellow. Impossible task to play cb for us even if he was in form.

At this stage we should eye up on getting 1 point every game than worrying about the "attacking defender" .

If the game goes well then of course Josko is the best candidate to go forward as a wing back like Forest game.

Rico, just stay behind and learn to defend. Walker bye bye.

And Pep are still complaining why the CBs are dropping like leaves! It is the punishment of his silly reverted fullback to be 8 experiment. All the other defenders are drained by his reverted fullback and of course Walker.

Pep will always push a defender forward though. He's the best option attacking wise, and the further forward he is the better at the moment.

He is one hell of a talent, an incredible footballer and could become a great if he keeps learning and working hard.

True. But right now he is making a goal causing error per game. When does is confidence get permanently crushed at this rate?
