24 | Joško Gvardiol - 2025/26

He’s fractured his tibia. Don’t know what grading of fracture, the fact he walked off (with help) would say it’s possible Grade 1… just a guess though.

Thankfully the ACL rumour was bollocks but it's obviously still a bad injury.

Wishing Josko a speedy recovery....

Not necessarily.

Again, depends on the Grade of fracture, but fit individual’s bone can recover from a fracture in 6 weeks.

There’s obviously getting back to full fitness after that n’all.

All depends on the grading though. Hopefully it’s only a Grade 1.
Since hes having surgery its not grade 1

Fuck, was hoping he'd just twisted his ankle. Poor bugger. Pretty fucking tough though. Hope his surgery goes well and he's back end of season and World Cup. Drink lots of milk :)

Looking back at the buildup to his injury, losing Gvardiol is an even bigger blow. It followed some ridiculous mistakes by their corner flag when there was zero threat to our goal, and now we're without him for the remainder of the season

Massive blow, I think we can manage fine without Dias but we'll struggle substantially without Gvardiol. He is our best defender and the only one in the backline who can progress us up the pitch against a high press. Hopefully a speedy and full recovery and he is able to return the same player he was prior to it is the most important thing.

I think that's his season done, he'll be aiming for the world cup if its an uncomplicated and smooth healing process. As I mentioned yesterday, it was fucking amateurish to let the guy walk off the pitch. Perhaps it didn't make things any worse but the sheer fact supposed medical experts have allowed an elite athlete to hobble off on a fractured leg has to raise some legit questions about their competence. Thats like a firefighter throwing water on a chip pan fire.

Oh damn. That’s the shin bone. It just shows you, the most innocuous challenge and the worst can happen. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
Amazes me how blood and thunder players who play on the edge every week hardly ever pick-up bad or serious injuries. But one misplaced boot or a twist and other players break bones.

Couldn't agree more ..... the pain on his face, and length of time he was down, should have told them everything they needed to know .... the stretcher should have been called for without hesitation !

Not the tibia, but when I fractured my ankle 23 years back, I couldn't walk from the wife's car to A&E, it was absolute agony ... i sent her inside to get a wheelchair.

Season ending injury unfortunately and with Dias out for a while , Stones and Ake always a doubt for any consistent game time we will have to go to the transfer market for a CB if we are to have any small hope of winning the title but its fair to say its just a battle to get enough points for a top 4 finish now despite how poor this season is in terms of dominant sides at the top of the division dropping points regularly.
