25 | Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2025/26

No one with a good keeper is doing this, and given it completely undermines the entire reason for Pep having his keeper playing with his feet, I would be amazed if he is doing it in 6 months time.

It screamed “don’t make him uncomfortable on debut” to me, and I expect they’ll be getting him up to speed with his feet from here on, but time will tell, if Dias is taking goal kicks in April I’ll be amazed.
They were making angles to hit it long down the line

I was a bit nervous because you never know how a new player is going to perform, and some people in the media have been desperate to talk him down, but that's what world class looks like. Just assured at all times. Comfortably taking balls that would be a big save for other keepers, and making saves that others would never get anything on.

when he looks shaky after being given the responsibility to pass a football 10 yards - looks to me you don't rate him!!!

Again you’re just inventing shit I didn’t say.

Why don’t you try replying to the actual comment and not just what you want the comment to say.

Yeah pal that save on the Mbuemo volley was totally ordinary, and can you explain to me what Trafford has shown in the 3 previous games that makes you think he's better for our style of play ? are you saying he's better on the ball ? because I didn't see that at all.
DO NOT BITE!!!

He’ll give confidence to the back line, making them not so jittery in situations around the box,I loved the fact he just doesn’t take any chances and clears it ..

Easiest derby debut anybody could want. Had one superb save to make and very little else to do. Hope he doesnt fall into the trap of thinking every team will make it that easy for him, expect his teammates to let him know they were fucking shit.

Given he has had probably 2 training sessions, no comment on his distribution yet, let the guy have a chance to get on the training pitch and learn what is needed first.

He already looks like he loves it here, as do his team mates. Hes a partisan, and I’ll never disrespect Ederson but he, quite rightly, looked like he was plying his trade. Donnarumma is doing that but has already made his claim that he’s a blue.

I hope that makes sense. I’ll add, there is never anything wrong for a player to ply his trade and not fully engage with the club.

Absolutely world class save from that volley.

Didn’t look the best with the ball at his feet and we went long a fair bit from dead balls as a result.

He made an incredible save from the volley in the second half unless you had the angle I did might have just looked like a miss

Great save second half, but I loved the rest of his goalkeeping too. They got in first half down the right and he timed it and closed the player down and blocked it, it was simple but perfect. The offside chance first half that Mbuemo sliced high into the crowd - he just stayed calm and stayed back. No panic, no problem. Love it.

Thought he was absolutely fine with both feet calm and assured as good as any aside from the obvious one and that’s with one training session with his new team mates

Superb debut, he looks really solid and what a save from Mbuemo's volley.

He showed great leadership, commanding the defence and ordering them about.
