I stuck up for him back in the early days at City as I thought he needed time to adapt and fans time to judge. He always seemed comfortable on the ball.
Currently playing better than I thought he would.
PS : It’s once in a blue moon I make such a good judgement.
I’m sometimes critical of Akanji but bloody hell he was brilliant tonight. Absolutely outstanding. What an astute signing. He has lapses now and then but for the most part he’s very solid.
I posted last week I suspected he'd play there ahead of Laporte. If he's able to play outside back on either side of the 3/4 to that level, he'll find himself getting a lot of game time over the next couple of years
