This is why it’s easy for me to laugh off the money comments.

They’ve brought in this lad for 15 million. He’s played all across the back line, and he’s been fantastic.

They’ve brought in the record-breaking goal scorer for less than 60.

In the Pep era City have just been extraordinarily well run.

But this is an Akanji thread and the lad has just been outstanding. Ake who has been the best defensive left back this season goes out and we don’t miss a beat. 15m. Fucking unbelievable.

Started off brilliantly and I felt his form dipped slightly. Since Ake first got injured he's been magnificent and looks a snip at 15 million.

Accepting your point about earlier season performances. it is clear that Pep absolutely trusts him to play whatever role asked of him across the defence.

A fully intregrated player in the team and a bargain at the price.

If Pep trusts him that will do for me.

Fantastic yesterday. Them powerful forays forward and didn’t look troubled at all in defence. Loved the fact when there was 20 seconds to go and Madrid were advancing towards our goal and he charged them shoulder barged the opposition player down even though the game was done, the clean sheet mattered.

In a 2 at CB he looked a bit flawed at times, but we've found his calling as part of a back 3. Superb.

Seems like a top guy. Been a great signing, and had some absolute stellar performances at LB for us.

Great signing, but more than anything, seems a great professional.

You can see that he's a real team player, and almost looked embarrassed to have the limelight for the 3rd goal.

Can only see him improving, and is part of what is a formidable back line.
