If hes in a base 2, he is not offering enough defensively and if hes in KDBs position, he is most definitely not offering enough in attack. Either way, he is not doing enough. Almost all of his best performances at City have come as a single 6. Any other position he has been asked to play, he has consistently failed at.
I disagree. But I won't belabor the point. Our failure yesterday had nothing bro do with Defensive cover. It had more to do with poor movement and being easy to defend. We dominated the ball yet created fewer chances and got countered. The whole point of a counter attacking team is that your Defensive cover has no effect on it.

He has improved this season but yesterday was awful back to the dross of last year. Those trying to find excuses for him in Walker and Otamendi are way off the mark. Not once did he attempted to go past the defender. Same old same old get on left foot and come inside. Or pass the ball 20 yards back instead of looking for an attacking option. The highlight yesterday was when walker was looking at sending a pass down the wing for him but instead Mahrez came 20 yards back took the ball of his feet then passed it back to Otamendi. Best to put it down as one of those games where he was truly fucking useless.

Due to their formation he was doubled up on every time he got the ball so how he was supposed to get by two defenders at least is beyond me his only option was to go sideways or back

In the heat of the moment, everybody seemed to put their finger on the real root cause of the debacle which is the wrong lineup, then everyone got back to type by blaming the harmless scapegoat, the record signing, the person non grata, the intruder ! Forgetting how brilliant he had been ,how Wolve’s defence closed him down and that all our attacks were focused on the left wing.

Had no support yesterday, was completely isolated and was wrongly subbed. Walker looked terrified to overlap (probably on Pep's instruction) and Gundogan only wanted to go sideways. Rodri doesn't have the passes that Fernandinho has in that position either so the ball hardly went to him.
I like when people talk sense and park biased opinion aside, spot on mate.

No he tried once to take on a defender and won a corner, he delivered an accurate cross to Raheem who did not exploit it. He has been double marked and Walker did not do him any favor by looking awkwardly hesitant to attack.

Absolutely spot on. Was a square peg round holes kind of sub when it was crying out for Bernado and him to try and link up or failing that stick Jesus left and Sterling right to stretch the pitch. Did neither even when Jesus came on Sterling didn't go to the right.
You hit the nail on the head mate.
