Can't have been a pleasant experience for him.
We all make bad calls occasionally,it's no biggy....in fact it makes the forum more interesting ;-)strange one this to me. for some time i've been looking for his name on the team sheet first .
quite a turn around . well done lad.
Most players react/respond in a similar manner, unfortunately for the individual no one is properly guaranteed a starting place in this squad, and, yes,it can back fire and have a detrimental effect,as we have seen with a few.Mahrez is kind of players who need play games
It will be big mistakes if guardiola rest him again
People on here have got memory lapses ! They forgot that he had an excellent season last year and was arguably our second best player. They forgot that he was not the only one to miss a penalty and other players missed way more important ones, whereas his miss was pointless given that we won the league in the end. They forgot that he redeemed himself by scoring a worldy in the last PL game and delivered an assist to help the team clinch the title when we were going toe to toe with Liverpool. They tend only to remember low performance spells even when he is not the only culprit and the whole team’s performance dips ! Their argument is “he is our record signing !” they completely overlook that the cost of our record signings is way below what our rivals pay for flops and untalented players, and yet they get full support of their fans and do not slag them off as opposed to what some of City fans do with the pre-selected scapegoats (Gundo, Riad, Raheem...). Just sad, disgraceful and pathetic !Three bad games next season and it'll be back to normal, no worries. Then after that once he has a good few matches we'll hear the same lines we do every time.
"Finally coming good"
"Adapting to Pep's system now"
"Best ever game for us"
He was poor for months , and like any player under performing and not putting 100% in he got criticism , Sterling is getting the same right now , because he could and should be doing better , Mahrez has been brilliant this season and deserves all the plaudits , he runs his socks off and gives 100% and is now a mainstay of the teamPeople on here have got memory lapses !
