Semenyo and Doku have relieved a bit of pressure on him by playing well. He can come on and give tiring defences a bit of a runaround and use his pace.

The next step is to start coming on and scoring / assisting. Then taking that confidence into games he starts.

It was too late for any of the 4 players that came on to do anything noticeable.
Didn't see a whole lot from any of them, neither good nor bad.
I thought Savinho came on around the 88th minute. Seems a bit of nitpicking but you may have noticed something that I didn't.

It’s just his lack of nous defensively. People were screaming at him around me.

He was an absolute joke when he came on today. For a start he wasn’t dressed and ready to come on at the same time as Foden, and Pep went mental at him. When he came on, he gave O Reilly zero help. When we brought Ake on, we should have took Savinho off

He's never tracked back, and rarely tackles. Doku was done, but Savinho is never the answer if we need to defend well.

Doku needs to do more defensively, especially when Nico gets forward, but Savinho is useless at it.

Hard to be critical of anything when we won a big game - the result was all that mattered. However, to see Erling being the only forward thinking player still closing them down in the final 10 mins was not good. Both Phil and Savinho came on late and should have been as fresh as a daisy instead they both coasted around not putting pressure on the opposition as Arsenal went for it. If they had managed to score and get the draw I would have been fuming with the pair of them.

Still we won but it told me that neither should be anywhere near the starting 11 at the moment.

Neither are near the starting line up.
On Savinho, Pep seems to have more faith in him than most of us do. Obviously they play in differing positions but Foden and Savinho appear to be ahead of more experienced players like Marmoush, Reijnders and Kovacic.
They look more likely to leave than Savinho unless I am reading Pep wrong.

He was better than Semenyo but that’s not saying much.

Semenyo brings a goal threat but when he doesn’t score, he is fucking terrible in general play. Savinho is better in general play but brings zero goal threat. It’s not a great situation to be in.

Better than Semenyo, more threat, wanted him to go down the outside a bit more though. Put in a good shift. Feel like him and Nunes have more of an understanding than Nunes and Semenyo do.
