26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Savinho having no pace is funny . He’s faster than Doku as example
Yeah he’s like shit off a shovel, he’s just got no end product.

My concern is that will come once he’s moved on and he’ll be unplayable.

Maybe Palmer’s first 18 months at Chelsea has done that to me.

He will get more space when playing for them so he will most likely do better there.

I think he has a lot of potential, especially playing on the left wing, where his role is to beat his man and deliver the cross. But, I think also to fully realise your potential, and be a really great player, you need a bit of fire in your belly, desire to win and I just don’t see that in him.

I think he's done really well in most of the matches where he's come on as a sub this season, especially in the latter half. He's still only young and a change of manager might just help him, especially if he gets to play on the left more often.

He's only played 550 minutes, the equivalent of 6 matches. You can't really judge a player on that.

Would have given him another year personally. Will be interesting to see who the club brings in to replace him and improve our options.
Not really seen very much of McAidoo at all so not based on anything, I wonder if Marmoush goes we replace them with one player that can play across the front 3 ( how many minutes did Marmoush and Savio have between them over the season) and promote McAidoo as the ‘project’ . Don’t know enough about him myself.

I’d give Savino another year but seems like he is of, one thing that bugs me is we go for a premier player the fee is north off 60+m for any team wanting one of our players it’s I believe spurs offered €40m in not in £ I’d tell spurs £60m or fuck off

Always tend to look at the bigger picture and whether players look settled at the club, and I'm not sure Savinho has for a while; I get the feeling he's particularly struggled being the only Brazilian in the squad, after Ederson and Reis left. He was given a lot of minutes in his first season and performed well, but he took a step back last year, though his injury is too often forgotten. Come the end of last season, however, he looked much stronger physically, particularly upper body, and is arguably the most comfortable of the three wingers performing on either wing. De Zerbi gets the ball to his wingers much faster than we do, leaving them isolated with their defender one-on-one, so I'm sure he'll enjoy his football and life there more.

There were Portuguese speaking players there , Dias and Bernardo, who look friendly enough.
Nunes has spent as much time in Brazil as anywhere else.
Savinho reminds me of Gabriel Jesus.
He lets a mistake affect him whereas the likes of Semenyo or Haaland miss an open goal but it only seems to spur them on.

Yes, there are similarities with Jesus. He's also a lot younger than those other two, though, both in terms of age and experience. Wish him well if he leaves.

Been a bit inconsistent which is to be expected with all younger players. It would be nice to bring more academy players through but I don't think we have that luxury. We need to bring in proven quality, if it exists, so that even Doku and Semenyo are fighting for their place. It's the only way the standards return to what they were. No one should be able to coast and still play week in week out, which sadly became true when we failed to invest.
