There are several players who didn’t have a world class asset. It came over time. Savinho is a creation machine. At least he was last year. It’s not like he can’t dribble it’s just that he hesitates too much when he is already through . I think he was top 6 in dribbles in PL last season not sure and top 3 in creation stats.
You wouldnt say Vitinha would turn out world class when playing for wolves , would you?

I'll admit it - the spurs links and him seemingly showing his legs to them (real or not) soured me on him and I already wasn't a massive fan of his.
That said, I'm fairly certain he'll come good and there's a player in there. I'll also be the first to admit I'm as fickle as any football fan and a hypocrite.
Always seems bizarre to me when our own fans are so quick to not only write off our own players but turn to outright abuse.

Maybe fair but I think locking down someone who's done 28 G/A in the PL and la liga in 2 seasons before turning 21 is smart business. That statline is unreal for someone his age.
Now everyone knows he's not made mortal enemies of the dressing room and Pep or downed tools and thrown in transfer requests can everyone just get behind one the best 21-and-under wingers on the planet?

If you're after a genuine answer mate, statistically his dribbling, creativity and ability to create attacking moments is absolutely top class.
Could definitely improve his goalscoring, but based on the chances he creates and his movement it should be 1 in 4, and I'm not sure he's really been asked to be a goalscoring focal point in this team yet. 1 in 4 would be pretty impressive at 21 imo.
Not worried about him. There are not that many RW top talents out there. He will come good. Dolu and savinho on the wings is and will be our future including whoever joins next season. Bobb isn’t a winger for me and is another who needs to play central.
I'm waiting to see what Pep sees and I wish someone would give him a talking to about his diving. But Pep knows better than me so have to agree that if the lad has been given a contract till 2031 there must be something special there.
I don't have any issue with him at all, and have argued for him staying. However, he was already locked down. For 4 more years. Longer than Doku has left. It's a move a think is slightly unnecessary but doesn't really change my opinion of him, other than I hope he continues to kick on and sees out the contract.

I think it became obvious that we couldn't tell bidding clubs hes worth 80m while still paying him allegedly 30-40k a week - so if we're keen to keep him a new contract was inevitable.

Why? That's what we did with Spurs - as Pep said, they didn't meet our valuation and as we weren't trying to sell, it makes little difference as he's under contract. We'd be under no obligation to sell him cheaper because clubs would state he isn't worth that fee because of his salary.
