I think Haaland was unfit for a load of matches. Marmoush deputised well, City played better football.

One of the qualities needed in a winger is bravery. If you are any good you are going to fouled/kicked. You might get some protection from a ref but don't count on it. Instead you have to get up and get on with the game. I'm afraid Savinho is unlikely to adapt to this aspect of the game and is too easily wound up.

Yes he has some raw dribbling ability and ball skill but that alone isn’t going to get you far as a premier league player - as it’s showing with him.

There is nothing about his game that helps the team. He’s as soft as melted puppy shit, waves his arms around and gives up at the slightest contact, can’t shoot, can’t cross, can’t pass, can’t defend. 18 months he’s been here and I haven’t seen a shred of improvement.

I could copy and paste this in the Doku and Oscar Bobb threads. We’ve got the best finisher in the game playing off these 3 and not one of them can consistently put the. All anywhere near him, or anyone else for that matter.

I think the club have just fucked up with the wingers over a period of about 3 years. Spent 100 million on grealish who was nothing but OK, then Sold mahrez too early, then sold palmer right when he was about to pop off (would have played RW for us) then bought 21 year old doku who wasnt ready, then bought 20 year old Savio who wasn't ready and now promoted 22 year old Bobb who isn't ready. There are no right decisions in this position for years, and eventually that's just gonna get you.

We must sign a proven quantity who produces numbers reliably at all costs in the summer if not Jan.

Doku is showing gradual improvements.

As for Bobb, he's not played that much in reality, but I have to say I don't see this immense potential that some say he has. That's not to say he won't be a good player but we don't need good players, we need players that are gonna win you big competitions. We can't even get a goal out of them, which is extremely worrying.

I can't imagine a team with the likes of Bobb and Savinho on the flanks winning titles and champions leagues. I'd love to be proven wrong but not sure I will be.

Mahrez wasn't playing for a supposedly top club at that age. I'm sorry but you can't cut your teeth, and learn your trade in a struggling team that has expectations of winning trophies. We are carrying a few players like that at the moment, and that's why we aren't going to be competitive in the league or the CL anytime soon.

Yeh, imagine expecting them to do some defensive work, usually after they've lost the ball, or asking them to get a cross in in the vicinity of one of our players, to pass to a teammate, to have a shot that isn't as powerful as a back-pass. Savinho, especially, isn't capable and if I don't see his gormless, lost face again (usually appealing for a non foul), it will be too soon. I see the usuals are getting all indignant about the criticism - because they "see something in him" - well news alert - this is the prem and you can only carry dead-weights for so long. He's had a decent run to now see he's nowhere near the required standard, nor likely to be. Sorry if that offends - but the way he plays, offends me.
