26 | Savinho - 2025/26

When teenagers like Yamal & Estêvão (chelski) & others etc burst on to the scene, it spoils it for others who are a wee bit older & not as talented yet.
Cheers. That's certainly a factor to consider when attempting to assess a young player's potential.

My point is that Savinho - for me - looks like he won't make it. And that Spurs offered a huge sum for him. And that we should have taken the sale - especially since Savinho seems to have wanted the transfer. And that further we are not lacking in players able to play RW. So if we sold him, it wouldn't hurt squad depth
Time will tell but the offer Spurs were offering wasn't a huge sum £43m that included several clauses. Its probably about what he is really worth. This 70m quoted are a myth.
We paid €40m for Khusanov which I think is good value.
Savinho, Bobb and Doku really need this to be a good season for them. Consistency the similar issue with all 3.

Making a conclusion on This lad now is naive when you look at players who become top quality and world class! Mahrez for one! Ronaldo was all over the place till 22 just look at his stats! Not saying Savino is going to be anywhere near that level but player gradually mature goal assist increase improve at different times in there development! Maybe Pep playing the lad all last season and this season when fit should tell your more!

This forum isn't titled "Fan Boys - Praise Our Players' Latest Performance"... it's an actual critique forum - where points both good and bad are advanced. So go on - state your argument for a player - and then see how it resonates. Perhaps you'll agree with the posts in such threads... perhaps not. But to label criticism as "just hate to hate" - misses the point of this forum altogether.

If you abhor any criticism of a City player whatsoever, this forum isn't for you.

Savinho is clearly struggling - I think we should have sold him to spurs when we had the chance. Yes he might eventually overcome his weaknesses and become a Mahrez-like player... but the odds are against this.

Meanwhile, praising Savinho for his good performances, while criticizing him for his poor performances - and then expressing opinions about him - whether good or bad - is what this forum is about.

"Some people just hate" - is well off the mark. If you desire praise or backing of our players no matter what - this forum isn't for you.
Sorry to be fanboy but Savinho played well at Villarreal.

But he's in our side - and I route for him and hope he'll succeed in spite of my misgivings. Meanwhile - I'll criticise or praise his performances each game as reflected by his on field performance.
You didn’t do that though. You said he’s ‘clearly struggling’ after his best game of the season so far.

City clearly putting a bit of ‘PR’ into him. Hope he does come good. The main thing for me is that he toughens up, he looks like a sudden gust of wind would blow him over at the moment

Also, while every player has technically bad days, there's no excuse for a bad attitude.

It's difficult to forget his contribution (or lack of) to Martinelli's equaliser.

Needs to toughen up physically and mentally, get a bit of swagger and attitude about him - he just seems to lack confidence when shooting or in some of his decisions in attack.

Personally I always wish we had players who strutted about like they were as good as Messi.

Where’s Nicolas bendtner when you need him

Dreadful. Him and Bobb look well below the standard required for a game like this

Granted they are not helped with what’s behind them but that has nothing to do with Savio’s crossing being well, well short

Never in a million years good enough for us, and I don't think he will ever be.

He is our Antony. A La Liga footballer just not cut out for the PL.

He is fucking woeful.

There’s no way he’s any better than some of the lads in the academy.

I don’t think he’d start for any other team in the league.
