26 | Savinho - 2025/26

So every player has to arrive at the first team fully formed? Not sure that’s realistic.
No. But there have to be some signs that potential will be reached. Sane and Sterling were uncut diamonds when they arrived, but we all saw flashes whilst they were developing. Likewise, Mahrez.

He's been here well over a year and hasn't improved one iota.

The club are confident so let’s see that happens.

Absolutely gash. Sick of his diving whinging moaning, get up and get fucking stuck in. Can’t believe we turned down 70m for him, everyone keeps saying give him time… he’s been here over a year now and if anything he’s got worse.

I’d have Jesus Navas at 37 or whatever age he is now over him

None of our wingers are good enough. Doku is handy as an impact sub but if we are going to persist with wingers we need proven ones who can create, cross and chip in with goals regularly.
Arsenal have Saka, Eze, Martinelli and Trossard. Dippers have Gakpo, Salah having so,d Diaz. All chip in with goals
Apart from Haaland, no one is chipping in with regular goals which is an issue. We definitely need more end product/goals from our wingers, unfortunately I don't have much confidence in any of them to be a regular goal scorer.

Anyone who uses the word "class" in a football context is a complete fucking bell end.

Ooh, "so and so's support tonight was Class".

"So and so giving his shirt to that kid was "Class"

"What a Class goal, or save, by whoever" was Class!!!!!

Gets on my nerves tbh.

Savinho is far from fucking Class!

The Poster is wumming BTW, and he's bang on.

He’s 21.
I hate this argument... the fact he's young isn't a licence for him to not perform.

He's way below the level required to play for city and has shown very little to suggest he ever will be. I'm not counting performances/goals against relegation fodder and teams like Huddersfield as proof that he is.

He may have some raw skills but hes clearly unable to put them all together to perform week in week out in the Premier League.

The fact we turned down £70m for him is absolutely mind-blowing, but the fact we even went for him in the first place over someone like Olise just further highlights the clubs failings in the transfer market in the last 5 years or so Haaland aside.

That’s clearly not what I am suggesting but what is wrong with nurturing talent?
I like that you're backing Savinho but I couldn't believe how long he stayed on the pitch yesterday. Went to the game and it looked like he contributed absolutely nothing. He had a good game against Villarreal so I could understand him starting against Villa, but Doku is way ahead of him at the moment. He's young and developing but he's not at PL level yet and we wouldn't afford an academy lad as much game time to help them at the expense of the team.

City you gave him a new contract (god knows why)
It seems like we are trying to prove not selling him wasn't a mistake by picking him every game since even though he is average to poor performamce wise.

and Pep insiting on substituting everyone before him seems mind boggling

He didnt have a very good game but overblown criticism once again for the new hate figure. looked very lively first 10 minutes then once we lost control of the game he wasn't really a feature. Not all on him though, our problems were very clearly in central midfield. How often did we provide him or any of our wingers with the ball in a position to go produce?
So what’s your opinion of his season and his city career so far ? He is not an hate figure for me as I think he is mid tabke and that’s about it .

Does anyone know what Spurs actually offered? Also is the 'Cole Palmer' syndrome,we are scared of selling any young player in case he turns into a top one.
£40odd million (I think it was £42m but can’t remember the exact figure off the top of my head).

The £70+ million never happened, it was just paper talk and had even gone up from one week where they made up it being £64m to ‘Spurs prepared to spend over £70m’ without a single quote from Spurs, a source close to Spurs, any agents or City.

If our ambition is to be regularly winning the CL then we need to have better wingers. Teams who regularly dominated CL had following wingers.

Real: Ronaldo, Bale, Di Maria, Vini Jnr
Bayern: Ribery, Robben
Pool: Salah, Mane
Few years ago at City when we made regularly into finals and SF : Sane, Mahrez, Sterling

Our Current Wingers, Savio, Bobb, Doku
