26 | Savinho - 2025/26

I guess he got that arm over his shoulder this week!

Outstanding performance at times. Needs to provide more end product now.

Got time on his side age wise, but less do team wise. Big boost of confidence to be selected to start this game, though.

One thing worth noting is that he can barely speak English. That has to be a factor.
Saw a City insider clip showing his house. A bunch of Brazilians stay with him, hanging out in Brazilian ways almost like a gang all the time, so I guess that’s why he hardly speaks English or connects with non-Brazilians outside practice hours. That’s why he rarely connects his play with teammates, which also shows on the field, I guess.

I bumped into Gabriel Jesus in the Arndale a few years ago(day of the Manchester bomb) and he was with 6 or 7 of his mates from Brazil who I believe stayed with him for long periods, if memory serves

It worked out ok for him

I wouldn’t read too much into it - I’d rather him be at home with his mates than making new ‘friends’ in Manchester during this setting in period

It ultimately will come down to personality, talent and application as to wether it works out here or not

His chef is English, though, so he should be fine language-wise.

Great performance last night, much better effort-wise. Similar to the start of his City career. Now, end product and we're home :).

Played well today. He's a decent player when he has space to run at defences. His struggles have mainly been again low blocks where he doesn't have much space to run into.
Was going to say the same.
He seems to need help from coaches and teammates to overcome ultra defensive setups. Let's hope he makes it as we need someone to lock down the right flank.

I thought it was one of his best games so far, and having a bit of space to run into certainly helped. Still couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo when shooting though...

Said before the game I had a feeling he’d play well hustling because in Europe you get bit more space to run into! Just got to keep this up when he starts and start scoring goals and assists it will come he is only 21

My measure is a top performance against a top side, preferably away from home. I haven't seen that yet but I'd be very happy to be proved wrong.
I remember Sancho being loaded as the next great thing out of Dortmund but he was a flat track bully and he's not even that anymore.
Think of sane away at arsenal, that type of performance.

He clearly has exceptional talent and needs the game time
But how much time can we give him when there's no end product from getting in some great positions. Chances are few and far between at the highest level and we can't really afford him squandering position and possession through poor final balls

Yeah, I was thinking to myself last night during the game that, as impressed as I was with Savinho, I still expect him to only produce a 6/10 performance (at best) at a tough away ground. Hopefully that side of his game improves.

Although, not to compare them directly, it took a while for De Bruyne to have a decisive away performance in the league. He scored 2 away goals all season in his first year (15-16) and provided 0 assists - again just in the league.

During his second season (16-17) his numbers away from home shot up. De Bruyne's ceiling was obviously much higher than Savinho's, but it even took him some time to acclimatise to away grounds in the PL. It's a tough adjustment.

What many may not know on here, he gave Dortmund's LWB a tough night - Svensson, who is mixing up the Bundesliga this season showing most intensity runs in the league covering a top distance across all matches.
We haven't seen much of Svensson, as he had to chase Sav all the time...
Yeah svensson is real good player he had no chance against Sav.
