He wasn't a project player, the project had been completed, from CFG buying him for troyes to get round work permits and loaning him out to blood him at Girona for a few seasons before the deal that brought him here aparently ready for 1st team starts.

He hasn't kicked on and found the prem isn't the easy ride you get in Spain, put him in the Anthony category, if he went to. the dutch league or back. to. spain he would be a star and banging goals in, here or the german league, not gonna happen for him.

He gets paid millions and he’s scored 1 league goal in 39 games, a league 2 winger could have got better numbers. People are rightly frustrated, people are also frustrated at the board for going from a treble to this squad within 2 years, it’s got to be one of the biggest fuck ups in squad management in modern football history and he represents one of the many mistakes, it’s his thread so people are going to air it. The club have done him no favours.

Age can be an excuse for his performances but it's not an excuse for giving him far more minutes than he deserves at the minute.

Rogers went to Lincoln when he was 18 for 4 months and was the best player in league 1. It was obvious from that point that he was a special player and was going to go far, you can probably dig out posts talking about it on the EDS forum.

The reason he’s not a City player right now is because we are absolutely shite at finding good loans for our young players. We sent him to Bournemouth who clearly didn’t need or want him except to make up numbers and he never got a chance.

Yeah and any 18 year old who can get 18 goals and assists in La Liga is a very good footballer.

The problem with Savinho isn’t that he can’t kick a ball, he’s clearly struggled to adapt to the physicality of the league, probably not helped by another language barrier and being so young, and then lost his confidence because of it. When you’re a winger who takes people on, confidence is everything, second guessing your decisions is the difference between getting past someone with a yard of space to put in a dangerous cross or it being easily blocked by the first defender. It’s the difference between getting on the end of a tap in at the back post and the ball rolling harmlessly out for a goal kick.

He needs to be taken out of the firing line for a while, give him time to bulk up a bit, come on as a substitute when we’re comfortable and given cup games and by the start of next season we could have a very useful 22 year old winger.

If Pep keeps throwing him on when we’re up shit creek agaisnt the most physical side in the league, he’s only gonna do more damage.

His confidence is fine - you've seen him trying to whip up the crowd when he thinks that he's done something good.

Save him for Carabao cup games, or when we're 3-0 up 75 minutes into a match. We can't afford to compromise the entire team by trying to 'nurture' a player. Too many attacks break up when the ball reaches him.

I thought in his first dozen or so apprearances he looked good, looked to me like he had it. Great touch, good movement and great skill but it was clear his finishing was abysmal. I thought that would improve but its getting worse.

Seems missing those chances and the physicality of the league has ground him down. Now he's a shadow of that promise. To echo many on here, he needs taking out of the firing line. Keep him for up games and some CL games where its not as frantic and theres more space.

If we're chasing a goal why would you bring on the one player who cant provide one?

He wanders round like hes the superstar, that fucking thing with throwing his arms up at the crowd as he fires in another cross to the defenders shin pads for a corner is embarrassing . The spurs thing was probably the worst thing to happen, he thought he had made it and teams were fighting for his signature for huge fees. It collapsed and then somehow ended up with a huge contract that has probably doubled his salary which is completely undeserving and goes against what City have done in the past decade which made it even weirder.

If it's true that Soriano pulled rank here then it's even worse. Perhaps Pep keeps throwing him out there to try and satisfy him because it cant be that he actually believes hes making the difference.

I wouldn't mind Palmer crapping it up at Chelsea and us buying him back and giving him a second chance at all!

Whatever Savinho can do.. I'm sure Palmer can do and he has a shot with venom!

Nico Gonzalez too. His player thread from last season wasn’t much more optimistic than this one.

Nico G we was hoping just to be a decent back-up to Rodri, which this season he is proving to be.

As a first choice future replacement for Rodri however, I am not so sure.

Sane was getting 35 goals and assists for us at the same age Savio is. That's the level of 21 year old development player we need. There is far more expectation of him as we are in need of a first choice left winger.

If we are going down the Tottenham road of persisting with a development player in the hope that he comes good in 3 years then fair enough, but I thought this club was built for more than that.
