26 | Savinho - 2025/26

I don't care how bad he is or how much he earns etc there is absolutely no need for some of the vitriol now being directed towards him or any other City player for that matter. If you'd be too embarrassed to say it to someone's face then don't type it. People will say they'd happily say it too his face but would you really be that unpleasant in real life?

Just noticed he’s turned off comments on his social media, might not be happening for him at the moment but the abuse is embarrassing
Would do him good to be off social media for awhile. He hasn't been great, but some of the insults and abuse I've seen hurled his way are beyond hyperbolic.

There has been comments that quite literally say they hate him. Most of the comments aren't even about tonight's performance which was fine, they're just venting their anger towards him unjustifiably because he is their chosen hate figure.

My cherki comparison was almost purely with regards to workrate, savinho has been slaughtered by many for his lack of workrate. I don't neccesarily disagree with that criticism, I don't think it's quite as bad as many would have us believe and have no issue with his effort tonight but I think in general its a more than fair criticism of him, I simply pointed out he put more effort in defensively tonight than Cherki did who still has yet to break into a jog defensively but he isn't seeing the same level of criticism for the same thing.

I'm not here to suggest Savinho is a world beater, i think he has a lot of talent but has yet to realise enough of it to fit in at the level he is currently playing. I've already stated i think he is a fanny that needs to toughen up, I don't think he is currently deserving of the minutes he is seeing either but I'm not so blinded by hatred towards him that I'm going to pile on him when he simply wasn't an issue at all tonight.

There were a lot of problems tonight as we conceded 4 and had to hang on to victory by thr skin of our teeth after scoring 5 away from home, savinhos thread if we are purely talking about performances tonight shouldn't really have gotten a single comment
I don’t think it’s about his performance last night it’s more about pep bringing him on
It’s not his fault he’s picked, he’s not going to say fuck off pep I’m shite we know he is
But why the fuck is pep selecting him.
Has he gone soft and doesn’t want to hurt the players feelings ? Well it can’t be that coz marmoush is twice the player and can’t get a game.

He's not a snowflake mate.

I work with lads who are shit at what they do at work and our boss let's them know about it. Does that make him unpleasant???

He's getting paid more in a month than what a lot of us earn in in years.

He is playing well under the required level required at City. If he played for Liverpool or United we would be laughing our bollocks off.

Yes I agree some of the comments on SM are too deep. But we live in a digital world where people hide behind a keyboard. But I would gladly tell him to his face that he ain't performing to the levels expected.

Yeah don't disagree with what you're saying there and I suspect at the moment there'd be a long queue of people happy to tell him where he's going wrong, though I'd like to think Pep could do a better job of it than me. I was talking about some of the more personal and abusive stuff.

Yep, the 'City' online presence can be very cuntish. I dont think he's currently up to par, but thats more on Pep than it is on him. He did the same thing with Raheem towards the end, whenever he was out of form Pep would play him and play him, I assume to try to get him back into form.

Halland bags that header, would have done the lad the world of good.
I am also referring to match-day. I sit near the pitch and against Leverkusen, Savinho was subjected to a barrage of abuse. It was like going back in time to the Kippax in 1997.

Pep is trying to nurture him but it is near impossible

I am beginning think Savinho has a clause in his contract about mimimum appearances / playing time - i just can't understand how he is constantly given game time despite his performances or lack of !
I said this to my old man last night.
He's rather got the best agent in the world who has put some sort of Messi type deal where he's got to play when fit or pep is just being stubborn thinking he'll come good.

I'm quite wary of him becoming a boo-boy and it being damaging for someone of his age. The sensible thing would be for him to be taken out of the firing line for a while. Clearly Pep doesn't see it that way, despite it looking obvious to everyone else.

Maybe he sees something nobody else does.

He would probably start crying hea that much of a shithead. All i ask is that you pull on that shirt you try hard.He does not therefore he goes on the list with Ged Brannan as the only 2 city players i have ever booed in 56 yrs of watching us and ive seen some right dross.

I did put this in the post match thread but he was unfortunate in not having an assist just before Fulham being gifted a life line. I am not suggesting he is irreplacable but the likes of Semenyo isn't any better for what we require either.
Apart from the goals, assists, power and all round threat, of course......

What he sees is a young player with undoubted skills who gives the ball away too often, can beat men but seldom makes the right decision when he does, has little or no defensive capability, has questionable attitude when he feels he has been fouled and yet occasionally has a flash of brilliance.
That’s what we all see. Pep must see it too because it’s fact not opinion. Pep is willing him to come good because we need him to perform. Why he favours him over Marmoush or Bobb? Maybe he trains better.
